Razor: English Flat Bottom Tech w/ Fat Handle
    Blade: Astra SP (1)
Brush: Ever Ready H40 w/ 24mm Tuxedo knot
    Soap: TOBS Almond
    Post: Nivea Sensitive

Despite knowing that, at the moment, I get my best shaves when shaving every other day. I decided that I would shave on consecutive days and see what happens. I got an excellent shave, but my face is feeling less than optimal. You know things aren't great when you get a bit of a burn from Nivea Sensitive. No weepers, no major issues, just a little burning sensation and a small amount of irritation on my neck that will have cleared up by morning. I'll skip a day next time!

    8 down, 92 to go!

    Enjoy your shaves gents!
  3. I hope that your wife recovers swiftly! I know I speak on behalf of all the gents on this thread that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
  4. I do, Jim. Got to use it up!
  5. I believe that you have to train your skin to get used to the daily shave.
  6. Will this happen by shaving every other day for a while? Or do I just need to suck it up and shave daily?!
  7. Aaron, I just wanted to clarify something here: the Schick H aka Hussy is NOT a twin-bladed injector while the others are single bladed. Instead, ANY Schick injector of model H or higher is potentially capable of being loaded with a twin blade -- but can equally well use the more common single blades. So if you also have a Schick L or something similar and want to compare the two directly, you can either load a twin blade in the L same as you do your H and compare twin-bladed injectors, or you can start loading common single blades into the H too and see how they compare that way.
  8. I would say do it gradually. Shave every day until you get irritation, then back off to every other day while it clears up, then try again. You will eventually find that you can go for longer and longer strings of daily shaves without difficulty.

  9. Boy, that's a question only your skin can answer, James. One thing for sure, don't chase the baby daily and, I believe, eventually your skin will adjust.
  10. Nice picture and shave, Clint! I personally can't imagine going ATG first thing with the Supply. :smiley respect:

Wonderful photo, Joseph! I'm seeing through the soap more and more each day.
  11. Sorry to hear of your bride's pneumonia, John. Prayers for a speedy recovery.

I used a B1 repeater the past two shaves. Excellent razor! So smooth and comfortable.
  12. Gentlemen, please keep my mother in your prayers. She went to the hospital today with chest pains and high blood pressure. Running tests now. Doctors don't think it was a heart attack but aren't ruling out some kind of blockage. She is out in Boise visiting my brother and sister (who both live out there). My father is there, too. They own a house in Boise and go and visit for a month or two at a time. They were scheduled to come back to Alabama on Tuesday, but that will likely be delayed.
  13. When I joined the 30DC I was hoping to shave every other day. I did that for awhile. My shaves got a whole lot better so I decided to try and shave every day. It worked, and I've been shaving every day since. I couldn't tell you if my skin got tougher or if it was the improvement in my technique or a combination of the two. If your goal is to shave every day I wish you the best of luck.

  16. I'll keep up with every other day for a while. Until I get it nigh on perfect each time. Then add another day in at a time. I should be shaving every day in no time :)

  17. I used to shave every other day because I didn't like to shave. It was a chore and Mach 3 cartridges were expensive. Then I started wet shaving. Now I shave daily other than taking a weekend day off most of the time. For me the key is not to push it. I do one full pass WTG and then a second WTG pass on my neck and an XTG pass on my upper face. Then I stop. I rarely do more than two passes. I almost never go XTG on my neck. I stick to WTG there. That system works for me and doesn't turn the skin raw where I need 48 hours for it to recover.
  18. Praying for a swift recovery for your mother.

  19. Thank you, Jim and James!
  20. My problem is that my stubble is still visible if I only got WTG/XTG :( I'll take more care to use less passes over the same spot to minimise any extra irritation that I might be causing myself there!
