Shave #58 on the Filly 14 yesterday - #58 is significant because it’s the shave that I finally threw in the towel on the Cape 1000, so the Filly has reached the same shave number and is still shaving reasonably well. Pretty impressive really using nothing but a strop to maintain it. Pre-shave, shave cream, and post-shave balm were all SMN Pre-Dopo Barba which can be used as all three though it’s non-lathering. It’s better as a post shave balm really but can be used to shave with and it isn’t bad but almost any decent lathering cream or soap will best it for in-shave performance. And of course being non-lathering, cushion isn’t going to happen for the DE folks. A little Harris Pink was used as a toner right after rinsing my face off. Cheers, Steve

Okina 翁 KJKMA . I don’t haul this one out all that much lately. This has really nice steel and holds an edge forever. A heavy blade and what I would call “half hollow “. My real love is the hollow thin grinds like TI and the early/ mid century Solingen blades. I ended up with a comfortable bbs shave with the samourai shaver.
Saturday Straight's Shave Cold Water Wash CTAPT Shaving Cream Jayaruh #30 Wilbert "Acme" 5/8 CWR Granddad's AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. The CTAPT Shaving Cream face lathered well with the Jayaruh #30 brush. I did two passes with the Wilbert "Acme" 5/8 Straight and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Granddad's AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
