It is supposed to rain all weekend long!!!
I figured sense I have to be out in the rain, I might as well have a good shave this morning.

Where are you from? Vintage is the way to go. For a lot less then that you should be able to pick up a really nice 1912.

I'm currently in Saudi Arabia. I've actually never ever used a vintage SE. Not really sure if I would be able to use and maintain them.

Nothing to maintain....just keep fresh blades and thats it...If you order GEM Stainless blades there is NO maintenance...and the carbon blades you just dry after shaving..In a dry climate like yours, you can use either without a second thought.

As Fuzzy said, you can get really great SE razors...GEM 1912...Ever Ready 1914 or 1924..lots of choices for alot less than your budget...But in your case, shipping will be as much as the razor...

But, you can still get set up for less than your budget.

As @Bird Lives said there is no big maintenance thing with these razors. You will have the extra cost of shipping and I do not know how easy it is to get SE blades there. Again you should be able to get them shipped in but I do not know anything about the post in that part of the world. If you like razors that are built like a tank look for a Micro Matic Clog Pruf or Flying Wing. Not bad razors to start with and really built to last.

The SE cartel has already reached out to him. He has been browsing across the street.
    Your welcome.

Though I prefer heavier Razors, I have just completed a second Shave with my Aluminium AC/SE, the Hawk and General. Both have been fitted with a S/S Claymore Handle, which works very well with both Razors. Today, the Shave was very smooth, and I have found that by slowing the Shave down, I can avoid using undue pressure on the head. Also I carried out extra polishing up work to ensure that the overall finish was ultra close, this was done without causing any irritation. In terms of finish quality attained, I felt there was not a huge difference between the two Razors.
In some ways I quite like the more positive blade feel of the Hawk.

Great shave this morning. Just had to use a balm to help my skin a little bit. Wind and rain are not a good combination.

You are not alone on that...Alot of folks see it that way. And if it wasn't so rare that most shavers will never even see one in the flesh, I'm sure many many more would have picked it as their favorite aswell. I adore it myself!

And your's Sir, I might add; is a beautiful example of the breed! Congratulations!
