  9. Great photo and beautiful setup, Jason! Hopefully the soreness wears off soon for your wife. I’m sure she’s glad to be in the comfort of home at least.
Just a FYI, in case you didn’t see it - I’m pretty sure it’s the Bon Vivant that’s being discontinued by CL. Might wanna stock up!

  10. Hello everyone!
    Thursday morning shave.
No pictures, just to tired tonight for that. Still using the same tools.
A Muhle R41 with a Feather Blade, PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum, Omega Badger Brush, Nivea for the finish.
Anyway this morning was a great 3x3 shave. I smoothed out a small pimple that tried to appear on my right jaw line. Didn't hurt, but it bleed a little. Nice close shave, smooth and clean.
Tonight checking the jaw line for the blemish, no sign of it, no feeling it was ever there.
No other issues, just a nice shave.
Lasting 7 or 8 hours, nice!
    What else can I say?
What else could I want from a razor?
I'm feeling more comfortable with this set up, I can tell by the way I glide the razor around.
Shaving the head is still some times tense, but disappears soon after the first stroke. The closeness of this setup is the best I have had so far. I can't see me not shave my head because of a little nervousness at the start. On the scalp you can realy feel the blade of this razor, more than anyother razor.
That's probably why the few seconds of hesitation, sometimes.
    But what a nice shave!

  13. Decadent December!!

    December 13, 2018

    Razor - Muhle R41 (2 pc)
    Blade - [IMG] (1)
    Soap - Stirling Barbershop
    Brush - Stirling Fine Badger
    Post - Alum

What a day. My day off but I think I'm more worn out than when I work both jobs. Up early to get the tags for my wife's car and get her off to Tennessee for a week. Then to my CT to screen for lung cancer. No reason other than they like to do it now. On the way there I remembered I had a work deposit that needed to go in the bank by 2. CT at 1, drive to pick up the deposit, bank at 1:50, goal accomplished. Rain was starting. Cold, nasty, you know - December type. Nothing freezing but cold dreary and wet. Off to walk in the mall to kill a bit of time, then to Best Buy to check out computers, then a fun drive down to my pain doc's office for my monthly whatever it is to get a prescription. Over an hour driving the 20 miles home thanks to even more rain and people playing bumper cars. However, everything got done and I can now sit back and enjoy a peaceful house.

As for the shave - what could be more decadent than using new gear, eh? I received in the mail today (finally) the Muhle R41 I ordered. I decided if the newbies were learning with them I should at least give it a try. I bought one of the twist models. Two piece razor, my first. It's a lightly used one that looks brand new. Heavy beast. The two piece is heavier than the 3 piece which is why I chose this one. I've heard horror stories but think I can handle it. I used a Sharp Star blade. No need to avoid some added decadence. I then grabbed the new Stirling badger brush. This thing really bloomed after getting the Arko treatment to break it in. Very dense and heavy and it had no problems loading up with Barbershop and giving me all the lather I wanted and more. Very nice feel to the brush. Once it's fully broken in it's gonna be a softie!

Two passes and touch ups and I really enjoyed using the legendary "beast". It's heavy enough all I had to do was keep a light grip on it and hold the angle. The razor did the rest. I used the alum and did discover that my neck was rather annoyed by the shave. I probably took some of the angles a little steep for that razor. Still, a fine shave and a great way to end the day!

    Friday beckons!

It was more of a mock complaint than anything. I certainly didn’t expect them to show a half hour early. That’s just not the norm.
