By the time the cream was gone, my skin was as smooth as you could want and no repeat or touchup was necessary. Very, very smooth shave. No way I can give a fair assessment without doing the whole face but based on this shave only, it is at least as efficient as my E2 with a new blade (and that's pretty doggone efficient) but smoother, more comfortable and with less fear of getting bit that always lurks with the E2. Can't say yet what part the heavier head plays in this but I had to pair it with my weighted bar handle...the one it came with would have been shaving with a bladed hammer. The Deluxe does not strike me as particularly aggressive but no doubt it is EXTREMELY efficient and, like the NEW, homes in on the correct angle pretty easily. And smooth and comfortable to boot. In short, I'm pretty sure I'm already a fan. Gonna get it plated someday. Burt's Bees a/s lotion, just for the fun of it before we headed out for dinner.

This means I will need to improvise because the Gold Dachs shave soap is seriously old-fashioned soap that can dry the skin some. I may have to super-load the brush and double up on the lather and limit this shave to 2-pass with a quick clean-up and rely on the post-shave cream to re-hydrate the skin. ***EDIT 1 - Hey, great luck! My Amazon order of my pre-shave oil arrived tonight just in time to protect my face tomorrow morning!

I'll say this about this soap. You CANNOT grate it into another container. I tried that and it turned to sand. Had to toss it.
