  15. Gentlemen, thanks for the kind words.

This was my last Sputnik blade, and I've only used a total of five. The shaves got progressively better, which leads me to think I dialed in my technique with them. It's the least smooth Russian blade I've used, and because of that, I really had to watch my pressure and pay attention to skin stretching. I'm thankful for the chance to try them, but I have no plans to buy more.

  16. Nice shave, Andrew! I'm also curious to see how many shaves you get out of the Polsilver blade. Hot Apple Cider sounds like a nice scent on a December day. I'm not familiar with Amici. I will have to check that one out.

My Bride and I just love seeing the photos of Declan and Logan. I hope we can see some photos of them opening their Christmas gifts. Declan's certainly chilled out today.

  20. If you lay it on a flat surface like a table or sink to strop your razor you will be less likely to nick it and also have better control on your stropping. Once you have the motion down good you can hang it for stropping. Make sure you don’t lift the spine or you can easily roll the edge of the blade. The Illinois strops are good and inexpensive to learn on. And also as soon as you brag about not nicking a strop it angers the shave gods and they make you cut the crap out of it.
