  1. Not new Jason. Everyone here is probably aware by this point that I have a serious brush acquisition disorder (amongst other issues we need not go into), so it takes me a while to work my way back around to any brush in the rotation. Combine that with the fact that I really don't have a rotation, and who knows what brush I'll be using on any given day. Regardless, that one is a two band thater cocobolo and is one of my absolute favorites.

I've got a sample of hot apple cider and of pumpkin pie. They both smell just like they sound. Not much occasion to use them in Florida (not enough cold days and/or imagination in my den), so if you want to try them, I'm happy to send them your way. It would give me an excuse to reduce my soap count, too.

  2. I'm ok thanks, Randy. Appreciate the offer but I was just curious about the scents matching the names.

  3. I expect one of two results. Either a really really close shave or a mini meat slicer. It just depended on blade choice.

  4. I’m booking odds at 2-1 for the latter. Oh, and remember, Paul: pictures, or it didn’t happen.

In related news, several companies make some really good salves and balms. Several of the enablers on this thread can direct you to them.

  5. Ah yes the plan is coming along nicely Keith. And just think @Hembree was worried about needing just therapy, but there’s always the looming possibility of being committed from using ideas like these.

  6. DECember 10 pages behind report

    RazoRock Lime Burst SS
    B-400 Omega Pro98 boar
    Osaka Suribachi scuttle
    Ming Shi 2000s on 5-1/2
    Personna Blue (10th use)
    Pinaud Citrus Musk EDC
SOTD 12192018.gif I'm a few pages behind. So here's a shave report, then I'll be catching up on 30DC shenanigans, enabling, and y'alls shave reports! Back to the warm water shaving today. The triple milled lime seems to like a blooming so it got a healthy dribble of hot water. That softened the surface so the hot water soaked boar knot could load up easily. Lather happened quickly in a warm bowl! With a blade showing no signs of dulling I took three passes & a little cleanup on nearly wide open with the Clone. Saved my left over lather for Melody to do a preteen face wash. Cool water rinse, splash of Eau de Cologne and it's supper time. Guess I ought to start cooking something. Maybe I'll catch up on the thread...
    Good Shaves Y'all!

  14. Thursday Shave

Continuing with the decadent theme today's razor has the thinnest grind of all my razors. While this razor is not my prefered style at 5/8 with a super thin grind it does shave nice, makes a lot of noise and has the nicest scales of all my razors.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A Smoothness A+ Sharpness A+

Razor: Drew Dick 5/8 extreme full hollow
    Strop: Herrold Russian leather
    Brush: Simpson Duke 3 Best
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: Crowne and Crane Tallow
    AS: Speick AS, L’Occitane ASB
    Scent: Dior Cuir Cannage

  15. Wednesday evening December 19 - on to the Techs

    IMG_20181219_180649_kindlephoto-442587460.jpg

I have eight Techs in my miscellaneous box: four Pre-War triangle slots that I have already tried (shown minus the one now entered in the TSD Holiday Raffle), and five others I haven't -- two American NDC, one British NDC, a D2 dated, and an L2 travel Tech.

Tonight one of the American NDC was up. This one has a fluted ball end handle and a plain topcap. (The other one has the Gillette logo frosted on the topcap.)

    IMG_20181219_181820.jpg

Gillette Tech NDC / vintage Wilkinson Sword (4)
    Simpsons CH2 Chubby Synthetic Bristles
    Fendrihan Lavender Sandalwood soap sample
Alum and TSD Bay Rum milk aftershave

I enjoyed a typical Tech shave tonight. Two passes on the face and three on the neck to my usual DFS. Not much else to say.

  16. Thank you, Randy! Yes, I keep the case in my Dopp kit for gym mornings or any travel I may do. It works with just about any razor I have, so it is convenient. I also have a DE head @Drygulch made for me, and that is about perfect for many of the DE razors. But, I leave that on my Floating Head to protect it a bit.

  18. I have a bar of the bath soap, which smells pretty good. I am a bit curious if there is any cinnamon oil effect with that one or not. :signs002:
