I pulled out all the stops with this one, as this could be classed as my Xmas shave (my next shave will be Boxing Day).. yeah, fantastic!!

Tonight’s SOTD:



I tried the Karve on the lowest setting plate (the AA), with a Feather tonight and had a really nice, smooth, mellow shave.

I coupled it with my other Christmas present, a Wild West Brushworks Cashmere knotted brush (my wife and I are celebrating Christmas early this year due to a combination of work, travel and family commitments).

I also used my Raw RS-10 (with the aggressive plate) to do an unplanned head shave tonight. This plate felt a bit harsh when I used it on my face, but has proved perfect for head shaving.

My favorite fragrance, Creed - Spice & Wood, will be the shave for Christmas Eve. I will be having to work on Monday, and will be getting up early at 2:30am and heading into work to get the reports out of the way, so my shave is going to come just 16 hours after my Old Spice Sunday shave. This is going to require a more delicate shave with 1-pass + 1-clean up and a mindful push to keep the strokes over the skin to a minimum. So, it won't be the most enjoyable shave, but will still be quality with the Merkur Futur. It's a classy set.

***EDIT - Quick 2-pass shave + very minor clean up, minimizing the amount of movements of the razor over the skin. The shave came out solid. Considering the skin should have been sensitive since yesterday I got lucky.

 

I like that brush.
