DECember another post already? Same gear but for a fresh blade Worked so well I did it twice. The blade felt less than optimal on the first WTG stroke so I loaded another. Three full passes with great residual from the Jeeves of Hudson Street soap. Wow...there's the Bunny in all it's close shaving glory! No need to dig for the alum because the AS told me all about it. BBS but for the lowest area on my neck. Hope everyone is safely to their destinations and enjoying friends and family. Good Shaves Y'all!
hello fello shavers, sitting around enjoying the day, time for a shave, "the limey"..washed face with col conks lime soap, soaked the simpson special bb brush and built a nice slick rr what the puck lime burst lather in the old stainless finger bowl..installed a new astra sp into the flat bottom tech and proceeded to get a nice 2 pass combo shave, dfs,no drama. a touch of thayers lemon and pinaud lime sec to finish. i love lime scents and have t and h lime, rr essential ime,c and e lime to name a few, but this one was new. the col conk lime was a nice preshave ,ant the rr lime soap was awesome..slick and easy to build a great lather..the lime sec won t last very long but i can top it off with tobs #74 if needed.have a great evening every one, gary
You better watch out. Rumor has it he is old enough to have a direct line to Santa and Santa is bringing him a stealth brick mold. I love that scent from Stirling. I took some college classes in the foothills of the Ozarks, and it does smell like that, especially in the spring, and fall. It does, even after all these years I have fond memories of him using it. Natalia sounds like someone to make happy, or sleep with one eye open. If you ever decide you want to move those SE razors, I'd like first shot at em. I have an affinity for SE and they look like great shavers. Like I said, I'd like first option. Either to buy them, or trade if you evre want to. Merry Christmas all y'all!
I PIFed my RR essential oil of Lime soap to a newbie, and I miss it. I may have to purchase it again. I have also long wondered about the Colenol Conk soaps. I see they make a lime scent. May have to get that one in January, wait, I have too much soap as it is now.....
col conk is good for preshave use, nothing to write home about..scent is nice.. the what the puck limeburst is the ticket, or the 3 pack for $9.00? awesome soap ,a great hard soap version of the rr essential lime soft soap..
Thanks Perry! Gary - I have a puck of CC Lime. It got melted to fit a small bowl. Glycerin based if I recall since it's clear like jello. Never thought about using it as a preshave soap. Did you leave it on like Proraso PSS and lather over with the RazoRock WTP Lime Burst? Aaron - It's not bad, a little light on scent compared to RazoRock WTP Lime Burst, but I've found other soap give better lather. Just need to work it kind of like VDH soaps.
yes , i left it on like a pre shave, felt and smelled really good and first pas was slick, but , i am sure the wtp soap was slick in its own right..nothing wrong with the col conk, haven t given it a real chance yet as i have better lime soaps to start with..maybe i should try it on its own...
I will keep you in mind and thanks for you interest. I have only shaved with a single edge once and am kinda looking forward to trying it again. Thanks for the compliment on the razors and we may work something out in the future. Have a great Christmas.
Decadent December!! December 23, 2018 Razor - Gillette Super Adjustable Shorty Blade - (1) Soap - Stirling 2018 Fair Debonaire St. Louis Brush - The Canuck Post - Alum My only late night for the week is done and so is the shave. Decadence Canadian style tonight! I broke out the short handled Gillette Super Adjustable on loan from the frozen north and also the Canuck for the brush. Not a bad combo, eh? For the soap I used the Stirling LE from this summer in St. Louis. It's not Canadian but it does feature a French word so we can pretend it's from Quebec. It was also made in Arkansas. They have pine trees in Arkansas. They have pine trees in Canada. Close enough for government work. The blade? Well, no denying it's a Russian. A fantastic Russian. Perhaps the best Russian. I took my time and enjoyed this one. The razor on setting "Me" was smooth as silk with the Sharp Star and it only took two passes and some touch up to get the baby in the house. I did a quick third pass even after that just to enjoy the scent of the soap and the feel of the brush. I'm liking the SynBad knot. Soft yet lots of backbone. And the fan shape lets you really lather up quick. Nice shave to end a busy day and lead into a little less hectic of a week. Tomorrow is Monday! I have a short day of it then off for the holiday. Hope you and yours have a very safe and happy time together. I would expect things to slow down a bit here as everyone spends time with family. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Festivus, Enjoy Saturnalia - I don't care what you call it - make it a happy one!
