When there’s time I will shave my wife. She like disposables if she’s doing it her self, but loves how smooth a feather will get her. She has her own ladies Gillette but it just sites there unused.

Of course it's not ALL up to the men. In my dating years though, I was the one that brought up the idea of shaving for pleasure. I never met a woman that didn't enjoy it, some just don't think about it. SB

My husband got me DE shaving over a year ago. He wanted me to try his and I wouldn't then a few weeks later, I had a blue star Gillette in the mail that was all mine. I couldn't let it go to waste so I had to try it. I liked it so I kept at it and am using all his soaps. :) I need to get more of my own.

    Girls, girls, girls...

I'm something of an old hand at DE shaving. I gave my daughter's partner a Muehle open comb razor for Christmas last year - which he loved. Anyway, I visited them a week or so ago in Melbourne, and brought him a fresh supply of Wilkinson Sword and Bic blades. My daughter (22) was delighted: she is now using the razor at least half the time and told me she'd never go back to the multi-blade "Venus" things - for her the Muehle is fantastic.

I offered to get her a Pink or Blue Lady Gillette, but she likes having a "unisex" razor of top quality - so long as I can keep them in blades (hard to get in stores locally, it seems).

I think I'll buy them 100 Feathers next Christmas!

After having many discussions with my wife about trying out a D/E and wet shaving she has said that she doesn't like the size of the razors, they are too small and she feels like that she will break them. I think that she is wanting a bigger head a well as a longer handle but I really haven't seen anything like that myself in D/E razors. Any ideas? Of course also she may just have no interest in wet shaving since cartridge razors do well for her and she's just coming up with polite excuses for me.

I've got my wife an entire set waiting for her birthday. She loves using my stuff so I'm hoping she really loves it and takes it on. Fingers crossed!

My wife doesn't use a DE yet, but when I started using one she was interested, so she will be getting a Gillette ladies Blue star in great condition for christmas, and will be using my Tobs Avacado cream. I'm sure I will be whipping up her lather the first few times.

My wife uses my 40's Style SS (I don't use it all that often, I prefer my Futur or my '62 Gillette Adjustable). Blades for the both of us are Derby's. She uses KMF Lavender.

My girl uses a weishi I got from Darkangel and TSD lavender rose soap. She loves the whole D/E thing now

Ditto, my bride is a Filipina. She's never shaved her legs since I've known her (28 years). When I met her she plucked her armpit hairs with tweezers (OWWWW!) Then she discovered that razors worked better. She used to use my Mach 3 (much to my chagrin) but the old stuff scares her so she uses some multi blade disposable job.

What is it about a woman's pit hairs? Now I have a fairly stout beard but a single pass of her pits will completely destroy a blade. Not a problem these days though, the site of a lather catcher will make her run in the opposite direction.

My wife finally tried the D/E experience, again. She used to, many moons ago B4 the disposables flooded the market, but like so many of us, stayed dedicated to the throw aways up until a week ago.

I guess it's because she has seen my interest in D/E shaving about 3 months ago. She does like the results that I get and loves the Clubman bay rum A/S scent.

Anyway, last Saturday she asked me to "hook her up" with all the right stuff. I put a new Dorco blade in my Gillette 7 o'clock and soaked the brush in boiling hot water while I instructed her to prep using olive oil pre-shave that I use. I got a brainstorm to try and make her shave more enjoyable, so I slid the old shaving mug, along with my bay rum soap into the microwave for 45 seconds, so it would be nice and warm. One of the more dumber things that I have done as of late. Anyway, I stirred the soap for a good lather and it came out like "paint". By this time she had already smeared some on her leg, and needless to say, it gummed the razor up really fast. I dumped the "paint" out and grabbed my other bowl and soap and made a decent lather. Her shave was okay in her opinion, but I could feel all sorts of stubble due to her using long and fast strokes.

The following week, I made the lather, and stayed while she shaved. I told her short strokes, no pressure. She did and had a much closer shave. I think and hope that she is hooked.

Now I need to get her her own razor. Will probably get a Lady Gillette when I can afford to do so. Would like to get her, her own cream or stick or soap that has a more feminine fragrance. She loves lavender or roses. I don't mind sharing the bowl or even the brush, but won't sacrifice my Parker. lol Because then it will no longer be mine!

That's my story, sorry for the long winded rambling.

My wife tried her Blue star the other day with a red pack and I whipped her up some TOBS avocado.

She was really nervous, but came out pleasantly surprised. Now my daughter is going to try it out.

After reading this thread, I went home and whipped up some lather for the girly when she was shaving her legs.

Have to say, don't know if it was the amount of time I got to spend, or the pressure to try and impress her, but it was the best lather I've made since I've started:D

She said she really enjoyed it, she like the smell of her can of fruity gel more then my VDH lol, but said it felt and worked much better. We have plans to go find her own soap this weekend now!

Somehow, she suckered me in to making her lather for her rather then teaching her though lol. Says she like feeling "waited on".

So my wife shaved for her second time with her Blue Star with a red pack in it, but used my bigelow cream instead. She even whipped up her own lather. She said that she loved the way it made her legs feel. I don't think she will ever go back to multi blades.

Well, I finally scored a Gillette star razor for SWMBO. It should be here by this Friday. She seems to be kind of excited about it, too. Not sure if she's catching the fever like I have and our sons have or if it's because she's on her last cartridge blade. She has used DE razors before but doesn't "enjoy shaving the legs". I tried to tell her that this was more enjoyable, but seeing is believing. I also told her that I would buy the cheaper toss away stick razors for her bikini area, though.

My wife doesn't use a DE. She's tried a few times but doesn't like it. However, she has taken to my Kent Bk4 and Taylor's Almond cream. She's also used all of my tubes of Derby, Proraso, and 2 tubes of Palmolive Red I bought before they were discontinued. So far her favorite is TOBS followed by Palmolive Red.

New to the DE thing! I actually have stalked this site for awhile; you guys are a big part of my decision to try blades instead of this crappy plastic disposable I have now. I have skin disorders that leave me pretty wrecked after I shave, so anything to keep me from rashes/bumps/cuts etc is going to be fantastic.

I'm currently bidding on a "ladies" Gillette razor. Is this what people are talking about when they say "Ladies Gillette Blue" or Ladies Star? Soooo confused.

Are there any other affordable (read: cheap) DE I should try if for some reason I don't get the Gillette?

As for soaps etc, I'm usually a cream girl, but...trying out other things right now.

I'm currently trying to make my own shave soap stick; once I get my new razor I'll try it out and let you know how it goes. :3
