Maybe it’s a matter of what you get used to, Jason. I’m a fan of several of their fragrances and alcohol based AS. The toner, while still a splash, seems to leave a bit of a residue feeling to me. I’ll try it a couple more times first to see if it makes the cut.
DEcember 27th Gillette New Improved ‘Bostonian’ w Astra SP Fine L’Orange Noir Omega ‘49/Walnut&Brass Thayers CL Bon Vivant First shave since Christmas Day. The Inlaws went home yesterday and I have spent the morning trying to get the house back to a sense of normalcy. They are super people and it was great having them here, but I am looking forward to having just the 4 of us for awhile. I don’t know if this New Improved is my most Decadent razor, but I think it is my most Decadent looking razor. I usually don’t care about cases, but am glad I got this from John cased with the nice blade holder as well. Took the time for a very nice, relaxed 3 pass shave. Knocked down the 2+ day stubble easily with this nice smelling soap and big boar. I did end up with two minor weepers on my neck, but they didn’t even bother trying to last through the fantastic splash. I’d call this shave DEcadent. Have a great day all!
Knocked it out if the park today. I finally feel like I can safely make the review of this soap. I actually did already. The ole EverReady did a fine job!
I'd like to correct an error made by @wristwatchb -and that is that The Veg IS Clubman. Oh all right, let's call it 1/2 an error-The Veg is no Clubman Original(or Special Reserve for that matter).
Gentlemen, thanks for the kind words. It's honor being part of this group with you. Neal, I passed on your Christmas wishes to Kathy! Thank you both for thinking of her! I won't tell anyone who's really in charge in your family if you don't tell anyone that 53% of my blades are of Russian origin. Deal? Jason, A Christmas Story is a classic and one of my favorites too. I've seen bits and pieces of the movie two or three times this year. I think it's hilarious because it reminds me of stuff I experienced as a kid...except for the Leg Lamp...and that's the story I'm stickin' to. I'm glad you got to enjoy it with your kids.
That is a superb shave and photo, Jason! Well done! It's always a little more fun to knock down a couple of days of growth. I'm glad you got everyone kicked out...er...home safely.
Paul, thanks for the clarification. The main thing is to post a hazard sign at your den entrance when either of these lovely elixirs are in use. OSHA regulations, you know.
Looks good and I have got to break a SE out next month. I may have to ask for a little help. My first and only experience with a SE was a little rough - not bad but not great either.
Why all the Clubman haters? You know that if you cannot wear Clubman it is becuase of you and not the Clubman. You see Clubman builds on your natural scent. If your natural scent is bad then the only outcome with be bad as well. If your base scent is great and then you add Clubman is only gets better. So don't blame the Clubman....blame yourself.
Any time you are ready! I'm here. I also do a lot of videos about it. I find sometimes people learn better by seeing than by reading! We will get you up and running in no time. Feel free to drop.by across the street as well, great folks there that love SE!
I use Clubman occasionally, especially during cold and flu season or when the mosquitoes are especially bad. I've got a couple of ounces in stock...probably enough to rid all the varmints from a 100-acre field. And just because I don't wear something doesn't mean I don't like it. I don't wear kerosene, but it works great in lamps, lanterns, etc.
Good one and if you ever need any more let my know. I started ordering it in the economic five gallon size. It is a hard to pour a little out in the bathroom so I found a pump at Harbor Freight that works great. You are right about the cold and flu season...it does open my sinuses up and help me to breath better.
Thanks Danny. Will do. I trust you are using the appropriate personal protective and leak detection equipment when handling large quantities of Clubman. OSHA regulations, you know.
