12/29/18 – Great shave this morning!

    The 30dc is about over.

Oneblade Synthetic Brush – 20mm knot
    Palmolive Sensitive Shave Cream
    Salsa\Timeless bowl scuttle
    Rockwell 6S
    Voskhod Blade
Nivea Men Sensitive Post Balm Shave
    Pinaud Clubman Aftershave Lotion

Had a nice close comfortable shave.

Two passes with plate 5 and finished up with plate 3. Applied some Nivea post balm shave and followed up a few minutes later with the Pinaud Clubman Aftershave.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

I have got to get out the door. My son and I are out hunting Farmall Super C tractor parts this morning. He is repainting his 1955 Farmall Cub and is gathering up some needing things for the Super C he is going to fix up. There are not many 22 year olds into old Farmalls. God bless.

    AoS Oud~~Mondial 26mm~~1947 Gillette Super-Speed~~Polsilver SI~~Burt's Bees Bay Rum
No rhyme nor reason with today's choices. I like that about a large den, I can have a new-ish experience daily.
Oud is a fairly intense scent, resin from the heart of the agarwood tree. Personally, I hadn't ever heard the name
until recently, and it was in conjunction with wet shaving.

The AoS creme is pretty darn good goop. It morphs into a very unctuous and plentiful lather, rich with cushion and slickness.

I probably scooped more than I needed :D but then again, better to have too much than too little.
The Mondial is stiff enough to whip and soft enough to paint.
The '47 SS was true to its reputation and navigated Primo's gorgeous face :D with nary a problem.
Day 2 with the Polsilver SI. Sharp and smooth are its middle names.
Post-shave is lovely and a very tiny dab of the Stirling Glacial Unscented ASB felt nice.
Burt's Bees Bay Rum was the choice for smelling good and man, does Primo ever smell...

    ...good :D

  6. Nice picture and shave, Danny! Good luck with the hunt for parts. My little boy (4 years old) LOVES tractors. He can tell you the model of any picture he sees - even the old ones. We have so many tractor books plus my wife's family works a lage farm in Talladega County. Anyway, have fun!

Very nice, Joseph! I saw someone a couple of days ago reporting that AOS creams were available at Sam's Club for $17.88.

I decided to sleep in this morning before going in to the office. Honestly I needed the rest. After seeing all the Bay Rum photos and posts over the last several days, I decided to finish of the El Caballero. My lower right neck spoiled an otherwise perfect shave. A splash of CC Bay Rum and I am for a day of spreadsheet hell before Asha's Birthday dinner and Bama Football. I hope everyone has a great Saturday

@Drygulch Adam mark another soap done and dusted for me.

    Parker SRX
    Rapira Swedish Supersteel (1)
    30DC LE
    SC Love
Alum, Thayers WH, USB, Captain's Choice Bay Rum, & Aramis

I performed two easy passes (WTG and mostly ATG) with the Parker SRX for a DFS shave this morning. I won't get too carried away with extra touch ups until I get my groove back with this razor. In addition to my normal routine, I took extra care to make sure I dried my hands well, applied alum to the finger tips of my off hand, and to switch off the morning news to eliminate any distractions.

The Parker is fun to use, and it just reminds me a well-built tool that does the job. My only complaint is that it's a little fiddly to get the blade in place...it's more me than the razor. For $30, it's one of the best shaving values on the planet. Let me be blunt --> if you don't have one, stop what you're your doing right now and purchase one or even two if you want to be shave apocalypse ready. :)

I am even getting better lathers with the synthetic knot in my LE brush. I'm following the directions of the synthetic brush experts here, and it is starting to click. The Rapira blade was super smooth, as expected, and I finished up with generous shots of CC Bay Rum on my strikingly handsome mug and Aramis on my Bronson-like chest. Both the Alum and the AS were silent.

All things considered, I'll take this for the first shave of my new focus. I look forward to the next month of shaves with the SRX.

I'm down almost 48 lbs as of this morning. The weight is coming off a little more slowly now, but that's OK. I have behaved myself through the holidays so far.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

  17. Thanks!
I'm using my cell phone for everything here. I find that I loose track of things and it is hard to find replies on the TSD. I tried to use "taptalk?" But it's not to user freindly on my device. I also noticed that I can go back through pages and find posts that weren't there before. I spent 20 minutes tryind to find this one that just appeared this morning but wasn't there last night, then lost it again.
    Crazy!

  19. Wonderful photo and post, Charlie! Congrats on being good over the holidays as far as eating. I haven't been as disciplined! I'll have to get back on track when I go back to school on January 2.

I've had a small interest in trying a shavette. Let me stress - small interest. Good to know the Parker is fairly inexpensive. Might try it some day.

  20. Congrats on sticking with the focus, Danny! You've done well with it.

Have fun with your son today. I love to see those old Farmall tractors restored. Please share photos as the restoration progresses. I'm not sure if it counts, but I have spent many hours operating an 1810 Cub Cadet with an 18 hp twin cylinder Kohler engine.
