  1. Is that all? I'm thinking there's plenty of open space in there to fill in some gaps. But I would never say anything to be called an enabler. :innocent
  2. Terry...I thought I had it bad. You need therapy! Come to think of it we all do. :innocent
  3. Decadent!! Great shave, Neal! Happy New Year and thanks for being our guide in the 30DC.

  4. Some great shaves and photos to close out the year!

Adam @Drygulch, I would have joined you in doing EDRIO now, but I ended up doing it in batches since August...
  5. Thanks!
Thanks to the crew here, I have a few razors. I declined buying a razor today at a local antiques store, I had 2 of the same type at home and mine are in better condition, wow.

Buying razors is cheaper than therapy, and a lot more rewarding!

  12. Wait, you mean to tell me, we don't have to have backups to our backups?
The cartel certainly cannot allow this to go unpunished. Remember, they are always watching!
I have to go look at a home for the (growing) family, I have to pass 4 antique stores in the way, it's always hard to pass em up .
  13. i have a sub collection of flat bottom techs ,can t leave them alone...

  14. Monday night December 31 - New Year's Eve shave

Supply Co Single Edge 2.0 in matte black on two-dot plate / vintage Schick Plus Platinum (1)
    Jason's cypress badger brush
    Jason's Dry Dock shave bowl
    MdC Original
Alum and Jeeves of Hudson Street Mountain Rain splash

    IMG_20181231_210031.jpg

I decided to make this shave a special one. I went with my Supply Co injector (stored in a box made by Jim @Jayaruh) loaded with a fine old American-made Schick blade. The brush was by Jason @jtspartan with a 24mm two-band badger knot from Maggards (excellent knot at a reasonable cost btw). For my soap, I cracked open my tub of MdC Original, scented with lavender, rosemary and mint (excellent soap at a highly unreasonable cost, especially when you add in the pain of shipping from France). The finish was by Jeeves.

In Keith's terms, it was an epic shave. Two passes on my face and neck and four under my jawline left me BBS. No cuts, nicks, weepers or irritation - a far cry from my shaves with this injector when I first got it. I am smooth, clean, refreshed, and all ready to wave 2018 goodbye.

In December, I finished trying out my unused razors, concentrating on Gillette TTOs and Techs. I tried unsuccessfully to terminate my seemingly eternal Fendrihan Lavender Sandalwood soap sample. (It's a decent German-made hard vegan soap but not one I would purchase.) And I just used equipment as the mood struck me. It was a good month of shaves.

Overall I really enjoyed 2018 here on TSD and on the 30DC threads in particular. Great interactions with a wonderful group. I look forward to meeting you all again in 2019!

Hope everybody has a great New Year's and a fabulous 2019!

  15. Forgive me, please.
I would have bought it IF it was in better condition or if they would have taken my offer.
Even the cartel has its standards.
