  1. Lol!
  2. I'm glad I am not alone in trying to shave. It has been a bit of a chore recently. Also that NB stuff too.

  3. Ok, I just completed my second shavette shave with my Dovo. I am still using Noxema Cleansing Cream as a pre-shave with VDH luxury soap. Used my Semogue OC badger brush to face lather. In this order, I went WTG, ATG, and XTG with touch-ups in neck area. Did something for the first time shavette shaving. I did a fool's pass without any blood loss, but got a minor weeper on chin. Took care of it with styptic pencil. Used witchhazel to prevent razor irritation. Finally used my Pinaud Clubman AS. Final result: the shave was BBS. GRADE = 95 or solid A.

I was in desperate need of a shave this morning. I was starting to look like I was growing out a full beard. Last shave I had with the Pol Silver SI (11 shaves on that blade) left me with a few ingrown hairs so I ditched it for a new Perma-Sharp Super, that I bought on the recommendation of Joseph @Primotenore . This was the second time that I've used Wassail since I bought it last year before Christmas, I love the scent of the soap but the performance leaves a lot to be desired. I can't say that I was blown away by the Perma-Sharp, but that may have been due to less then ideal lather. Well see how it performs next shave with a good Stirling lather to work with.

I know hump day is almost over, but I don't think you'll mind. Have a great night my friends.

I'm curious to see if your opinion changes on the blades. They are one of my favorites.

  9. Thank you Perry!
Thank you, Charlie. We are meeting with the funeral home tomorrow to make arrangements for Pat's services and burial. Everyone is still grieving in their own way but many good memories are being brought up and shared. It will take time but our family is healing together.

  11. Great shirt on Declan! I like PermaSharps- if you like other St Petes Gillettes, these should work really well for you.
  12. Thank you, Jim. I've only met one Russian Gillette made blade that I didn't like so I'm sure it will prove itself. It wasn't bad by any means but didn't feel quite as good as a Pol Silver, GSB, Nacet, or 7:00 Super Stainless (my top tier St Petersburg blades)

  17. Running behind last few days again( snowstorm). Been doing Williams week over across the street with Fuzzy and the gang. Be jumping back in next week with the Luxor Pro for some shavette action . Missed a bunch of pages here so I'll get caught up ( or not) later. Happy shaving guys!
  18. Very nice indeed!
  19. Anything under a pint is "just kidding!"

    Hey y'all... Watch-iss!
  20. I figured the shavette master would be joining us. He's an expert with both shavettes and wounds. Although cuts on the top of his head do occasionally require assistance.
