  6. Great photo and gear...I think you need some apple pie to go along with that whipped cream.
  7. Not going ‘Nuts with the Osage’? Nice, subtle Ode to Adam...
  8. Birthday Shave

Razor: Karve with a “D” plate. Solid brass and bead blasted for a subtle matte finish
    Blade: Gillette Silve Blue
Brush: WDC-8 Brass Handle w/ MS two Band 100% Finest Badger Extra Density 24/63
    Soap: Route 66 Ghost Town
    A/S: Old Spice Lime
    Bowl: Boise Mud Works Blue

An amazing new razor to me from Karve. I like the design with the diffeent base plates to dial in a great shave. This razor looks incrediable and the shave is outstanding.
As a bonus my wife gave me the money for the razor for my birthday present, and some people wonder what love is. :)

  15. I'm still trying to block that memory.
  16. Excellent report and photo, as usual, Joseph!
Long Live The Sheep! One of my favorite Stirling offerings!
Note: It isn't for everyone. If a person doesn't like the smell of citronella, they'd HATE The Sheep.
  17. So what's going on with the razor? Not honing well, or not holding the edge?
  18. I did see what looks like it may be the collar of a hair shirt. Not sure I want to find out though.;)
  19. Glad to hear you got the soap dialed in, John. I like a lot of the B&M scents, but must admit that Lavender and Violet isn’t one I would immediately try to grab.
Another great photo, Jim. Did PAA get the scent matched perfectly?
Sounds like you did as well as you could with the Barbasol, Perry. I love that beehive style brush as well!
I’m trying to think of the last time I used canned product- I used a brush and soap my last few years of cart shaving, so I’m guessing at least 5 years.
Yup. The only lasting scar I’ve gotten from shaving was from day #1 with the CJB. Quick and CJB don’t add up too well.
Have fun on your date night, none the less!
34 years! Awesome, Charlie! Of course you were a gentleman. You still are. Your passing another car on the entrance ramp was merely foreshadowing for her the risks that you’d take to ensure she was never late...
    Great looking shave!
I’m on a similar 2 week break, Jim, and I agree with you that it is a weird feeling not to shave every day and feel like you are keeping up on here.
Good description on the lathering, Joseph.
I’ve used Bath Soaps as a cheap alternative to decide on shaving pucks actually. A few times I’ve gotten decent deals on SV and C&E bath soaps and besides the fact that they are awesome products (the C&E bath soap is miles better than the shaving version, imho), they let me sample scents without the cash outlay for a full shaving puck. Obviously it doesn’t help with knowing how the shaving soap version will be like performance-wise, but the scents are usually bang on. It is what got me hooked on Felce Aromatica actually, and saved me money by not loving the scents of Stella Alpina or Dolomiti.
Did you end up honing that edge, Brian?
Congrats on the new razor, Doug! You have now officially joined the long list of Karve enablers...
  20. Thanks, Jason.
The scent is really close. Probably as close as you could get two different mediums. More subtle than the aftershave. I consider that a good thing.
