    Thank you, Jason! The Barbasol did pretty well. You could do much worse, even with some artisan soaps.

    Thanks guys. @Hembree is right; my cut is the least of things my wife has to overlook. It is truly astounding that she's put up with me for 15+ years. Not as astounding as Charlie's wife at 34 years, but I hear she's trying for sainthood. I'm not sure how Charlie years vs. Randy years stack up, but I'm pretty sure they both will be living in very large mansions in heaven, while Charlie and I share a mud yurt over near Fuzzy and Neal's tent.

    Oh, and I'm pretty sure there is never any need to further document my own stupidity, but I will anyway...

    Taking a clue from Gary @brit I lightly lathered some glycerin based soap, then topped it with Italian triple milled. Did it make for slicker or better glide? Hard to say because that WTP is really decent soap that performs like more expensive products. I'll do the preshave procedure again a couple times for further evaluation. Blade in the shavette feels like it's ready to replace, but I carried on for this use. Two passes - WTG & ATG with only two little spots of blood. Both on my chin from the 1st pass. With plenty of secondary soap ready I gave the vintage German DE a WTG & clean up fiddling. No discernible stubble remaining so call it a high DFS, but not into BBS just yet. Splash of the Pinaud capped off a fun shave and sterilized the nicks below my mentolabial sulcus.
