I'm sorry to hear that your mom is in the hospital, Danny. I hope she is getting better and gets out soon.
Great shave, and photo as well. Maybe you could help your wife out with a DE. If you can get her "hooked", it'll make future den purchases quite easy. ;)

    January 6th
    Razor: IBC
    Blade: Schick Proline B-20 (2)
    Brush: PAA Atomic Rocket
    Pre-shave: Stirling Mentholated
    Soap: PAA Keepsake Fruitcake
    PAA Star Jelly unscented
    AS: PAA Keepsake Fruitcake

    Good morning!

Shave two with the shavette. It didn't feel any less awkward this morning. I did my first pass with the IBC and finished up with the Dart. I didn't draw blood today but I didn't attempt a second pass either.

    Have a great Sunday!

Thanks, Clint. I plan on spending the day watching football. I think I'll take the blade out and practice different grips with it while sitting in front of the tv.

Yes alum is a big help for skin stretching!

    By watching @gssixgun videos.

Razors with big smiles tend to bring big $$ bu you find razors with ‘smaller’ smiles for reasonable money if you search for a vintage one.

    :happy097: CT worthy? :think002:

It looks like you’re both having a great time what a great memory you are making.

My wife and I used to be into the "tea thing" awhile back, and she bought me a neat cast iron kettle, with a strainer inside. It's just been sitting there for quite some time, and we have been thinking of starting to make some tea again. We still have some tea from years back in the cupboard. Here's a question for you - how much does time degrade the taste of tea? Have you noticed much of a change with the older stuff? Not trying to be cheap here. I have no issue with getting some new tea. I'm guessing that the flavor will decline as the tea ages, but for someone with less refined taste buds (such as myself), will it be all that noticeable?

Thanks, Paul! I figure that, so long as I can use it without needing medical attention, how it gets used isn't much of a concern. ;)

RazoRock 400 Noir Plissoft Synthetic Shaving Brush
Salsa Bowl / Timeless bowl scuttle
    Stirling Noir Shave Soap
    Stirling Noir Aftershave Splash
    Nivea Sensitive Post Balm
    Voshkod blade
    Dovo Shavette

First time using a shavette in a while. I completed two passes and decided I was ahead of the game and left it at that. I did have one small weeper on the neck but nothing major.

Finished up the usual way with Alum, Nivea and a little Stirling Noir aftershave. Really like the way the RazoRock 400 and the way the Stirling performs.

Y'all take care and have a great Sunday!

    Good Sunday morning all!
Well my open blade focus turned into a rule...who'd a thunk it? ;)
    20190106_083919.jpg
SR- H. Boker & Co. Magnetic
    DE- Fatip Retro
    Blade- Polsilver
    Soap- Stirling Bay Rum
    Brush- Omega Badger
Finish- Stirling Bay Rum post shave

I've used the same tools and software for 8 days now, IMO....that's a rule.
    So, why stop now?
    No blood! None! So far....
The first passes with the straight is doing much better. I did 3 passes with it but it came out to be like a bad 2 pass. See, I'm not going anywhere near my ears or lips for now. I have about a 1/4 inch strip that I use as a buffer zone on the face till I get better. The neck on the other hand was much easier today and I think it will be Ok in another week or so. The cheeks are good and the jaw line is comming along fine. The chin, that will take some study and work to get it right.
I did a 4th pass with the Fatip and that cleaned it all up.
Have a little itching on the neck, but after 4 passes, and 3 with the new guy holding the blade, well....
It went away after about 20 minutes or so.
Haven't tried to re-use a DE blade yet, so I'm on my 2cd five pack of Polsilvers for the week, but I expected that.
Now shaving the head is like ice cream and cookie heaven. No problem with this blade/razor combo. Might be silly to try somthing different, but that's always in the cards. I do think thay my R41/Feather 30DF rule I did last year helped on that, a lot!
    So there ya go...
I stumbled into another rule, will it last 30 days?? 60 days?? Or, untill I can shave whithout the DE as a back up?? Who knows, but it seems to be working as advertised.

    Good shave to all, and..
    Enjoy
    Thanks!
