I certainly hope your air time on Mad Money with Jim Cramer and Squawk Box doesn't interfere with your time here on the 30DC, Neal.

Sounds good, Adam. It will be fun to see what software and hardware you decide to keep. You bring out a great point about being a collector. Collecting in and of itself is a source of enjoyment for many, but that doesn't apply to me.

I'd kind of like to see what a shaving gear intervention from the 30DC would look like.

On second thought, it would probably look like all you guys raiding my den, so maybe I should pass.

Avoiding that intervention would probably be the best advice, yes. Besides, asking us to do an intervention to help with hoarding of shave gear is probably akin to asking the winner of the hot dog eating contest to help with an intervention with someone trying to lose weight.

    In reference to Patrick @9nein9 question on the Futur clones;
I don't shave my upper lip so haven't tried that maneuver. For a comparison here's the Ming Shi 2000s (same clone/different box) head to head with a Fat Boy.
Ming Shi 2000s vs Fat Boy.gif
The base is not overly wide. A blade just covers it. Note the three points of the base holding the blade securely in place.

It's the downward flaps of the cap that make the difference in width. There are also two points of blade stabilization on the cap.

Thanks Perry, Amen to the cost of the Dominica soap. (Not a bad shower soap...there, it lathers. Go figure.
    If that only worked...

    Very nice Bruce.

    Awesome shave Brian.

If youre happy then I'm happy. Great shave.

I used to practice without blade . Helped me alot at first to learn grips and angles .

Love those days when all goes well.:shaver

    Youre welcome Jason.

Did you use Platinum Lux? I just got some and never tried them yet.

    Youre welcome Jim.
    :thanks: Jim.

    Thats just funny.:angry017:

You have us pegged . Be a free for all.
Hence no blade overhang there .

Thanks, Patrick. I spent some time yesterday using the razor bladeless while watching football. My wife was looking at me like I was nuts.

The Platinum Lux are my favorite of the Rapiras. Top notch blade in my opinion.

Very valid points, Neal. I too think that sooner or later the bubble will burst, so to speak. As hobbyists, we tend to keep buying more and more, then realize how much we actually have. There goes the repeat business. There will be exceptions, of course. As for myself, of the soaps I do have, there are none that I’d consider to be terrible. Yet, many of the ones I have wouldn’t be repurchased. For example, I do like Cella. It performs well and I like the scent. But it won’t be replaced. Yeah, not an artisan soap, but still.
I hate to see folks go out of business. Having all these choices is a double-edged sword. It’s great for us, but terrible for many of the vendors. Like you said, many artisan products are a hobby and not a full time job. But there are some who would like to go full time. I got to chat with the guy who makes Eleven and the guy who makes Black Ship Grooming. They both would love to quit their day jobs and go full time. I wish them both luck, but it’s a crowded space.
Rod & Mandy have played it smart. They offer so much more than just shaving soap and aftershave. The bath soaps alone are a huge help for business. I go through them much faster than shaving soap. Somehow, a shaving soap and/or aftershave almost always shows up with a bath soap order. So, yeah...they’re pretty smart.

Congrats Bruce! Great set up and shave. Your shavette skills are advancing quickly! And shaving the back of your neck with the SRX? That is Shavette 301! You skipped all the 200 hundred level maneuvers and went straight to the 300 level!

The ink on the lettering of my SRX has either worn away or never existed. It's kinda like having a '73 Monte Carlo without the pin striping and vinyl roof. ;) I may do a @Hembree and paint the lettering so that it looks uber cool like yours!

That’s where learning to use your off hand comes in very useful. From there it’s just muscle memory, since the razor still partially blocks your view a little.keep up the good work

I can't either, Jim, so I cheat. Every two or three days, I line up my sideburns with a small electric trimmer. When I'm doing my ATG pass on my cheeks with the shavette, I will shave right up to the bottom edge of my sideburns to give things a clean look. I hang my head in shame, but my sideburns are straight. :)
