Thanks Bruce. Today's shave with the Parker was just OK. I am trying to use up the Clubman. That's gonna be tougher than eating the fruitcake last year. The hot sauce bottle with the yellow juice in it ain't going to the new house. ;)

Very interesting, Clint. I prefer the SynBad to the Tuxedo, at least for face lathering, but it may not be an ‘apples to apples’ comparison as my SynBad is 30mm, and my Tuxedo is 24mm. On the APShave Co site, it doesn’t describe the flat-top as being a SynBad per se, but uses very similar descriptions for it. The SilkSmoke seems to be a grey SynBad or Tuxedo, but does have a slightly different description. I do have a 24mm Flat top I need to get into a handle, and would have a better opinion and comparison obviously after that. I believe these are all Yaqi knots anyway, so who knows.

Good call, Charlie! After reading your post, I though of a few things that shouldn’t make the transition from any post WW2 home into a sparkling new 21st Century abode:
    1. Shag Carpet (unless it is that 2 tone swirl, because you may be cool again when it comes back)
    2. Clubman (sorry, Barbershop reminiscers)
    3. Lounge suits (sorry, I hope no one on here)
    4. Fruitcake (sorry, those of you born without tastebuds or unable to access Rum any other way)
    5. Living room furniture with plastic on it (sorry, Granny)
    6. Lilac Vegetal (sorry, chosen ones)
    7. Macrame (sorry, mom)
    8. Any artwork with Velvet on it (sorry, entire northern half of Province of BC)
    9. Bidets (sorry, fans of cold water)

Just wonderful, Joseph. Fine American Blend is my favorite scent so far in wet shaving.

    Great photo and shave, Bruce!

    Thanks, Patrick!

Thanks Jason! I'll attach this handy reference to our moving list. Looks like we'll need to have a big yard sale before we move. ;)

I can think of two items right off the bat that will be with me wherever I am in life. 1)-Clubman(sorry @jtspartan and @wristwatchb), and 2)-a relic that my grandfather sent my dad while the former was serving in WW1. Dad had it on his desk for decades, then when he died my Mom kept it with her, then she gave it to me a couple years ago. Will be on my desk always now.

You can set up a Pasteur's Pharmacy for those shave items you don't need. :)

    Hello gents, laidies too.
    Today I had a delema.....
    20190109_204259.jpg
Shaving with my straight left me with a less than great shave. Even with 3 passes I am left wanting. Must be the razor is not as sharp I need.
So what is a guy to do after wandering into the dark side with a dull wepon??? He pulls his ace card, that's right, the shavette.
My face had to many wiskers for a good nights sleep and I knew it. I've been spoilled by the 3 pass DE mowing that keep me nice and clean. So I washed my face, lathered up, then proceded to shave a second time today. Not my first rodeo when it comes to 2 a day shaves, but never with such a blade. I decided that since I would be shaving again in the morning, 1 pass should do.
Now this is the very first time I have ever used such a thing. Before June last year, I didn't even know what a shavette was.
Could I shave with a shavette without blood letting, or was this going to be the great sacifice the dark gods demand from whoever strays in, unprepared.

I'm here to declare that no blood was sacrificed today, first or second shave. The dark gods were either quiet gracious to me or passes out cold. Either way I got away with it, this time.... ;)
That's my adventure into the dark side today.
    Till morning....
    Enjoy!

Terry, Was your straight sharp enough when you used it previously? If so, then it possibly needs to be refreshed on a pasted strop using chromium oxide. Caution: That is my newbie guess.

    Thank you, Gentlemen.
John- I am interested in how these blades do as well. I’m battling about 67% so far on vintage Injector Blades. The Personna Twins I got from you are great, as are the Vintage Pals. The Vintage PAL Carbons that were with my InjectoMatic? Brutal.

Great looking setup, Troy! How do you find the handle of the razor? I’ve heard that they aren’t slippery, even though it looks like it would be.
