    Good morning my friends!

    Thought I’d go “Dutch” today:

    Neutrogena Men Facial Wash
    Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster
    Goodfella/7AM day 7
    De Vergulde Hand SS
    Tabiano AS Gel
    De Vergulde Hand AS Spray

A fantastic shave today and I can’t believe how well the 7 AM blade performed on its 7th day. I’ve been using the De Vergulde Hand soap for a long time and I’d appreciate if Jan or anybody else from The Netherlands can tell me how they feel about it. Personally I love it, but I met a couple of Dutch guys who told me they can’t stand it. I find the scent lovely, it lathers great, it has lots of cushion, it leaves a good, clean postshave feeling. The Tabiano gel is very moisturizing as well as soothing, and I have a feeling that I’m the only guy in Montreal who has the De Vergulde Hand aftershave spray because it was discontinued. It smells just like the soap and after the initial sting it feels terrific. Sorry about the lousy photo - next time I promise I’ll do better! ;) :)

    Pal Adjustable razor
    Personna blade
    Vie-Long Silver Tip brush
    Arko Hydrate SC
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
    Colorado Sage cologne

Better shave today, getting back in the groove of the Pal. The Arko SC did well too. Through a fiasco with Amazon, I have 4 tubes of the stuff so it's good that it works fine for me. Gonna take awhile to use it up. Now go enjoy your day folks

Only 10 more Mondays until Spring!

I was a tad lazy this morning. Just didn't feel like soaking the brush and whipping up some lather so...I went basic. Got a 2 pass, minor touch-up BBS shave. Then I started thinking (dangerous I know) about all the different soaps and creams I have and yet Barbasol yields the same result with proper hardware & technique. And then...and then, it hit me as my skin started feeling dried out and almost kind of stretched post shave. (I shave prior to showering). Now this was with regular Barbasol and for years I used Barbasol with aloe. Don't recall the same drying sensation but that was years ago. Anyway, post shower I applied the HBG snadalwood and all is well. Good stuff!

    Cream: Barbasol
    Razor: Fatip Grande

    Aftershave: HBG sandalwood

Great shave with my Rex (set at #3) with Astra SP blade. No irritation or weepers. Brush is an Ever-Ready #750 with TGN premium badger knot. Shave soap speaks for itself. Proraso aftershave.

    Last night’s SOTD.

    Razor: Rocnel Elite 2018 LE
Brush: Ed Brice with AP Shave Co 30mm Tuxedo knot
Lather: Chisled Face Cryogen & TOBS Peppermint
    Pre-Shave: Mickey Lee Soapworks
AS Balm: Sudsy Soapery Spicy Pumpkin

Eye-watering menthol kick to this shave with the combination of Cryogen and TOBS Peppermint.

The Mickey Lee pre-shave works as well as any pre-shave oil and has the added benefit of the addition of a healthy amount of Glycerin.

Despite having the Rocnel for a few weeks, I used it for the first time last night and wasn’t disappointed. It’s a noticeable step-up in efficiency from the 2017 version and the best way I can describe the shave is that it was like a knife through butter, it was that smooth.

I rounded everything off with some Spicy Pumpkin balm, which proved a perfect counterpoint to the menthol.

All-in-all it was a great shave.

I am loving the new Karve razor. Provides outstanding shaves in a great looking package. IMHO.
The D plate provides a shave close to my Timeless razor.

Gary, middle of last year I tried to do just that with a WWI bi-plane but the banner to hold the SOTD, (or at least for you could see the setup decently) was double the size of the plane and didn't look right to me so gave up on the idea.

Sweet setup Doug. I really like those shave bowls but balk at the shipping from Canada to US.
