The knob on the IBC doesn't get in the way at all.
The Omega 10098 is the one I was looking at. I'm going to back off purchasing much this year. There's a razor I've been eyeing for my birthday in March then I'm going to try and hold out for black Friday deals.

I enjoyed a nice and easy mid-day shave with Parker. Two passes, a few touch ups, and I'm fairly smooth.

January has finally arrived! Temperatures have dropped, and we're expecting 1 to 3 inches of snow tonight. That's equivalent to an 11-foot snowfall in Canada. Thankfully, temps should increase, the snow should turn to rain, and everything should be gone by Sunday.

Good evening, everyone!
I just completed shave no. 7 with my Dovo shavette. I did WTG, ATG and a partial XTG with some touchup. I ended up with a near BBS, but alas, I got a few nicks, but no irritation. The styptic pencil took care of them and there aren't any tell-tale signs. This is my 4th shave with the Dovo long blade and it seems that it is getting duller faster than I expected, and that may be why I am getting a few nicks. On Sunday, I will shave again with the same blade to ascertain if the blade is dull. It shouldn't be after 4 shaves, but we shall see. I prepped well by using 2 hot towel treatments, soaking my badger brush for 5 minutes before applying lather for second time to shave. The first lathering was done between the 1st and 2nd hot towel treatment. After shave, I applied the 3rd hot towel, then cold water, then witchhazel, and finally my Clubman Pinaud AS.
Grade 93 = A-

Thanks Andrew. The shavette focus has been fun. I'm currently more prone to weepers being on the blood thinner. Anytime I get a completely bloodless shave, which is challenging, I feel a sense of accomplishment.

Work has settled down into a more regular routine. Still very hectic but that just comes with the job. Tax season really hasn't started in full swing yet so I have not had to deal with the IRS yet. Hopefully the shutdown doesn't last much longer.

...a welcome break from the million posts this month containing hyperbole.

Welcome aboard Rob. You're off to a great start. Lots of good advice so I won't repeat it. Just stick with the program and you'll be surprised at the improvement after 30 days.

A very early morning shave with an evening post. Whew, what a day. Entirely to long and hectic for a Friday. At least the day started with an excellent shave. Three passes and touch ups ended with the baby in the house. I hope everyone had a great Friday. I'm going to sit back, relax and enjoy an adult beverage or two.

Oh I will. I did have a few beverages the other night and went internet shopping. Ended up with another soap and aftershave so at least the damage was not too bad.
