  4. Another excellent report, Neal! How 'bout that? A decent Chinese blade. And we thought it wasn't possible. :)

  7. Lou Reed is too cool to sing? Here I was thinking that he just can't.
Ever hear that stuff he did with Metallica? There should be laws against that.
  8. Stay away from product reviews. Especially blade reviews. Seriously.
Most are written by other newbies. If they cut themselves, they write a review deeming it the worst blade ever. If they don't cut themselves, it's the best blade ever.
For the most part, a blade is a blade. Technique Trumps Tools - Always.
  9. Thank you, Patrick!

  12. Rob, welcome to the 30 Day Crew and congrats on your first successful DE shave! You'll be amazed at how quickly you progress as you work on your technique.
  13. I didn't say that, Patrick. I said the soap is mediocre. Big difference.
  14. That ain't a puppy you're smellin'. :) New Omega boar brushes stink pretty bad. With repeated use, the smell will subside. To hurry the process along, build a lather in the brush and let it sit overnight. In the morning, rinse out the dried lather and repeat. It's also OK to shampoo, condition, and rinse the knot a few times along the way. I use the most strongly scented shaving soap and/or shampoo that I have on hand. After a few cycles, it will have no animal scent. You'll also start breaking in the knot by doing this. Don't be discouraged by the scent. It's definitely going to be a nice brush that will last you many years.
  15. Great shave, Fuzzy. It's always a good idea to start with a good cup (or three) of coffee too.

  16. Indeed it is. :)
  17. Thanks Bruce. You too, my friend!
  18. Thanks Bruce. I have said it before, the Stirling 24mm is THE best badger brush for the money available anywhere.
  19. Bruce, congrats on the progress with the shavette! It sounds like you have found the angle that works! Nice shave with what else for the finish? Clubman! :git:

  20. If @FaceScraper uses enough Clubman, @Paul Turner will get wind of it in Boston. This phenomena is known as the Clubman jet stream effect. :)
