  1. Much better shave this morning, with the heat and hot water back to normal*. Went a little easier with the Stoylin Spice A.S. this morning(too much of a burn for my comfort zone yesterday, with same). Another chin weeper(same side as the others, what is THAT about?). Great soap-spreading with the Maggard brush.

  2. The shave with the LC New and Black Ninja was close enough yesterday that I did not need to shave today.

    Enjoy your day.

  3. Thank you Joseph. Overall I’m in great shape but my left elbow is bothering me. I’m sure it is aggravated by my work station.

  4. Nice summary of the issues with the Rapira and taking one (two?) for the team. I think it was the lack of blade curvature that made me wonder about the cap and/or handle of the Rapira. Given that both razors are based on the last-generation Tech, I'd expect similar dynamics from both. The lack of blade curvature on the Rapira makes me wonder if one of a couple of possibilities could be happening:

    1. The uppermost cap threads are not cut cleanly or far enough, stopping the handle from tightening to the optimal point.
    2. The thread is too long and is bottoming out inside the handle. (I assume the handle is hollow but there may be a bottom to the chromed area.)
    3. (Not as likely) The baseplate has some strange curvature or angle at the safety bar which is increasing the apparent gap.

It's a shame that the cap thread limits interchangeability. I think I sent you a JunJie a long time ago. I wonder if the handle from it would fit the Rapira.

I actually looked at ordering a Rapira but the shipping costs push it beyond what I consider it to be worth for the experience. (And, yes, I devote way too much time to overthinking a cheap Chinese razor.)

  13. That's still an A- shave in my book. I have been overconfident when I shave my head and so inevitably, Nick comes over my house without an invitation.

    Blackland Blackbird Triad Ti
    Gillette Platinum
    BSB 2 Two Band
    MDC Original
    Fine Green Vetiver
    Brooks Brothers Blue

ACES today! Face lathered the MDC with ("Sancho") BSB-2. I had an easy thick n' odorous lather in no time at all. The Blackbird is Blackland's first razor could be their best. In any case I'm having difficulty putting it down. After two quick passes I had a near perfect shave with little to clean up. MDC is outstanding soap, expensive and justifiably so. I hope to replace the Original, it's at the top of the list for Father's Day.
The cobwebs have been blown away. I'm very smooth, smell grrreat, and ready for another day. Hope your shave and day are great.

  15. Thanks guys. It has been fun using the Parker, and the shaves are progressively improving. I may extend the shavette focus through February with my Feather SS folder. I hope you all are having a fantastic day.
