    Amazing lineup and photo Mark. I’m getting some of the CBD oral drops next Tuesday to help with my soreness. I was told the drops give more relief than the gel caps. Maybe you can give the drops a try next time. Good luck with your back. Back issues just plain suck.

    It sounds to me like the blade needs to be refreshed. ATG shaving, while never as smooth as WTG, should never stop the blade on a properly honed and stropped razor. Let me ask a few questions and then we'll see where we are. First - how long has it been since the blade was honed? Second - how many back & forth passes do you make while stropping? Third - do you use chromium oxide on the felt to occasionally touch up the blade? Forth - at what angle do you hold the blade? There are many variables based upon an individual's beard type (coarse and tough vs. fine and soft), grain direction, and sensitivity of your skin. Also whether or not you wear a beard or are smooth-faced. With your answers, maybe we can clear up your problem, somewhat. As far as the number of passes required, it again depends on quite a few variables. I use three passes on my neck. The first pass is WTG, down from my beard just below the jawline. The next pass is XTG, again at an angle down from the jaw. The third pass is up toward the jaw, again, at an angle, XTG. I can't do ATG on the neck with a straight razor. Since I wear a beard, the cheeks are two passes, left to right, WTG and ATG. When doing these passes, I use my fingers to see if there is still a little stubble left after a pass. I there is, I just go over that one spot. It takes a little while to figure out your own technique. Keep the faith - it'll all work out.

    Shave number twelve with the Parker. Wow! Color me impressed. Not only was there no red on the white washcloth while wiping soap off the face, the smoothness of the shave is incredible. I took my time and watched my angles & set downs. It paid off.

    My unicorn arrived yesterday and of course I couldn't wait to give it a try. Whipped up the RR Son Of Zeus soap with the big 30mm Yaqi synthetic and kept adding water until it was almost dripping. This was probably the slickest lather that I've ever gotten out of a RR soap. The curve of the handle of the Type O really make it easy to ride the cap with them. Such a smooth comfortable shave. Three passes left me BBS. I finished with an application of Stirling Glacial Unscented balm and after that absorbed a splash of RazoRock Amici. Have a great day my friends!

    Thank you Andrew. I have the Fine L’Orange Noir. I can see the similarities off the puck. The R4L picks up the earthiness from the vetiver while lathering. The R4L is one of my all time favorite scents.

    No my elbow pain involves the tendons. I injured it some time back and put off seeing the doctor. Instead of dealing with an acute situation that could have been resolved quickly, I’ve made the situation much worse. Because I work so much on the computer, the typing has layered on chronic repetitive injury that is much harder to treat.

    That is certainly a nice example of one of the earliest safety razors. That is one of the later models, 1900-1908, I think. I've got one, myself, that I bought on eBay for $75. The one I bought is an earlier model, from about 1896 and is in like new condition with three wedges, a handle extension and a stropping holder. They are, indeed, a beautiful design and a high-quality device. I'll post some photos when I can.
