Hero, Germany By S.A.Greathead. Lowell Mass. A little fixer upper. Pretty decent shape. I liked the unique scales. ..
Boker Red Injun 101 blade and box only. I have the very same model , but the blade is cracked. This should make things right again I’ve been waiting on one of these for quite awhile now.
I have the exact same razor, I know you will be happy to have it back in working order. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Glad you were only “ eying “ it I’ve been looking for a replacement blade for over a year. The box was definitely a bonus. The scales are flawless and look new. We’ll have to see how nice this will turn out.
Bill Ellis razor Most of the threads about these are 10 years old, with most pics missing. But I think I can say this looks to be a Wapienica razor that was reground and massaged, then rescaled. I have never held a Wapi, but this looks to be in the 1/4 hollow/near wedge grind described. I don’t see too many of Bill’s razors come up for sale so was glad to stumble into this one. Happy Hunting! Tom
Nice find Tom, I certainly would love to have one of these razors in my collection, well done! Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Thank you. It did seem to stay under the radar, and it isn’t one of his full customs so maybe that is why. But I feel very lucky to have it. Might have to get one of his old restoration dvd’s to go with it. Also, if anyone can confirm or deny my Wapi theory, I would appreciate it.
I looked at several Wapienica razors, and their stampings are pretty deep. Being hardened steel, I do not see how he could stamp his name into the tang, so deep. But, they do look similar. Someone else have a suggestion?
F.W.Engels Special No.1. Solingen Germany Needs a little work. But, at $15, I figured it would be a fun restore. Zero Cell rot, and minor rust.
I’m on a business trip and stopped in an antiques shop on the way to the airport. I picked up a W.H. Morley and Son’s razor and an old stone. The stone is a Lilly White Washita and it appears to be flat. It will need some cleaning (I neglected to take a picture of the top before packing it in my bag). I’m not familiar with this stone, but figured it was worth $25. I’m thinking it would be a nice mid-range stone.
I got this in today, 6/8 Rasoir Sabre Olive Wood Scales . I enjoyed the first one a lot, thought I would get another one. I hope this one is as good. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
