I’m not much of a bowl lather guy either. Either I suck at it, or the quality of the lather sucks. It seems to get too airy. I prefer a dense lather.

Onward and forward with the blade trials to the Vi-John Super Platinum. Given the performance of the Super Stainless I hardly think there will be problems here. We'll just see how they compare. I tend to prefer platinum coated blades to stainless coated, but it's really an individual blade thing. For instance, I really like the Ladas and Nacet SS blades while some others I'm not quite so fond of. Platinum tends to feel a bit smoother to me, although PTFE is still my true preference. Enough of that.

Slim is dialed down to 3 for the first shave and the JR230 and Arko were perfect as always. This brush is a bit smaller and really nice to handle. My first pass was much like the first pass on the SS blade at setting 3. Very mild as the angle was very narrow. I really don't know why they even put settings 1 and 2 on the Gillette Adjustables. 3 is as low as I like to go even trying to mimic a mild razor. I used three full passes and some touch up at the end . The blade is indeed very smooth, as was the SS, and the feel and result were essentially the same. I managed a near-BBS with those three passes and touch up with no blood and quiet alum. While the blade is sharp it isn't in the area of Feather sharp. Way too mild in a mild razor to be that sharp. Still, a great result and I can't complain even if I prefer a more aggressive feel to the shave. Opening this one up tomorrow and the next day should produce great shaves.

The weekend is here! Snow is moving in, or so they say. Windy and blowing snow this weekend unlike the heavy wet snow dump we got last weekend. We'll see how it progressess. Have a great one!

She answers "I was going out for some groceries and he was laying in the driveway, licking his dick and I backed over him!"

I broke out the tea kettle and my tub of QCS. Sadly this tub is almost done and I have just one more tub in reserve.

This shave felt luxurious, hot lather, a soft Kent BK8 and smooth edge on the Huntsman.
