no clue whatsoever..looks sealed though.. hope its ok..what common sticks were around in the late 40s england.?if its original to the set..
Well I haven't had winter boots for 4 years and after the latest storm here in NY I decided to get some. I found a pair of vintage NOS Sorels on Ebay and made an offer that was accepted.
Waiting on : British no 66 Slim w/ fatboy case Segal w/ Sheraton case AOS Cologne AOS Kingsman shave cream Bronze hinges and latches to repair some Gillette cases ( hopefully ) Acrylic hinge to repair a toggle case
Lol yeah I’m tapped now. The 66 is totally a revamp candidate. But for $50 shipped it that’s not bad. There is a local plater that I might send some razors to he stated $100 for 5 razors and I’m thinking at $20 a pop that might be ok. He’s never done razors before though
thats cool,my buying sprees empty my pocket as well.if the 66 razor doesn t pan out i need a case. i have a near mint caseless one..
I believe it’s a mismatched set. The razor appears to be the 70 but the case is 66. I think technically the 70 and 66 share the some components but with the 70 having the patent number inside vs saying pat pending
the 70 as far as i thought was nickel and not rhodium plated.. could be wrong though.. my 4th gen is rhodium, diamond baseplate with pat pending, could be a 22, but its the case that determines the set # not so much the razor..i have a late 15 .has an early 15 case but a 430030 baseplate and rocket style mechanism .i always thought that razor was a 16..so much to learn....
Would you believe... another Tech? This will be my second English Flat Bottom, though this one clearly has a bit more mileage on it than my other one. I'm hoping it will clean up a bit. One odd thing about this one is that it has a continuous slot and the cap has the continuous bar (as opposed to all the other ones I've seen with two slots and a split bar). @brit, you seem to be the English Tech expert. Have you ever seen one like this?
no sir , i haven t.maybe a late example just before the diamond stamped one. the cap has a continuous pin late 40-50s with the mold line in the center..the missing section on the baseplate(compared to other flat bottoms ) look like they have plating on the edges, or i would say someone cut them out to fit a later single pin cap..
