  8. Shavette Fu- late to the party again...
Super shot, Jim. How is that knot in comparison to similar synthetics?
Always love the look of that G5, Perry! I’ll be pulling out the ‘66’ for Favourite February for sure.
Awesome shave, Jim! I hear you, I’ve been having a hard time keeping up the past few days as well.
    Stop it! CH2 again...Greenery...enough!
    Just stunning, Clint.
49! That is just awesome Doug. Congrats to you both!
Yup, Hail to the King! Great review on the soap and scent as well, Andrew.
Blooming and Dandy in the same post? What is next...foofoo scents?
    Great write up, Randy!
Time for a blade swap perhaps. Irritation from soap or splash ingredients should have come right away, so I suspect a dull blade is perhaps the culprit.
Another really neat, simple shot, Charlie. They are becoming your signature!
Welcome home, Brian! Hope you get a chunk of time there for awhile.

  9. Thank you Jason. A new Simpson synthetic just arrived today and is on deck for tomorrow. Photo with greenery for Friday's shave. ;)

  12. It is just the normal ivory colored Duke 3 synthetic. One too many adult beverages. :D

  13. That's a shame. Just a thought, I strop my straights with a welcome rug beneath me and I shave with a thick towel under my feet covering the floor so that if I drop the razor, then it lands on something soft. These precautions will minimize the possibility of damaging the razor.

  16. Do you order your Simpsons synthetics direct from Simpson’s, or do you use a stateside vendor?
brit, jluc, Norcalnewb and 7 others like this.
  17. I ordered this one from West Coast Shaving. It was cheaper with free shipping.

Anything other than normal ivory color has to be ordered from Simpson directly.

  20. That's a good idea although it would not take much to damage the blade edge of a straight razor. I'd more concerned about standing clear to make sure I didn't get injured.

On a watch forum, folks talk about handling their nice watches over a bed or another soft surface as much as possible. Hard surfaces and sapphire crystals don't get along.
