  5. Thanks!
That's not even subtle, Andrew. I do admit to looking at them regularly.

  6. A lot cheaper and more easily attainable then a Wolf Whiskers! :angelic007:
  7. I do want one, Jason, but Mark won’t let loose of one of his thousands of colorful LEs, and I don’t want to look pedestrian next to him with just a black or ivory one. C’mon, share the love @Boojum1!

In other news, my arrival home coincided with the arrival of my first Damascus straight. It only provided a DFS today, as it could stand to be a lot sharper, but hopefully that shouldn’t be hard to achieve. Regardless, since this has been a week of fancy pants shaves out of the fancy pants soap dish at my fancy pants convention hotel, I decided it was the day to shave with some of my classiest gear at home to help make my transition back to the real world a bit less bumpy.

  8. Nice finish off for the Stoylin Sandpiper soap this morning. That is, for it's opening "set". Looking ahead to next week, I return to Grand Barbershop Station for at least a week's worth of "Hippity Hop To The Barbershop"(is there a pattern here?).
  9. That's two of you now who have returned home from business to find a shaving item in the mailbox. I believe the other was @clint64.
  10. Day 21.

3 passes with the straight and a few touchups. Finished with the featherweight. The left hand got some action. But I don't see it getting equal time for all three passes any time soon. I'm not too worried about that.

In the minion bowl we have TOBS lime soap. Hands down my favorite lime scent, and an excellent soap. It's a shame that they quit making it. Lime, with hints of lemon, orange, tarragon, lavender. But those other notes all know that their place is in the background. They're just there to glorify the lime!

  11. I guess we both work to shave, not shave to work, Paul. In other words, we are great candidates to be in the same AD support group.
  12. Great shave And photo Randy.

The best way to get a CH2 synthetic in various colors is to follow Simpson on Twitter. If you see something you like, send Mark at Simpson an email telling him you want the brush. Oh and the black is a LE color as well.

  13. That is a beautiful new razor, Randy! I'm sure you will get the edge honed up in no time!
Great shave Robert! I love lime too, sounds like a great scent!
  14. Question about tobacco, fellas.....In many soaps I see the ingredient, tobacco "LEAF". Would this have less of a tobacco scent than, say, Tabac? I've decided straight tobacco isn't for me. The bath/hand soaps I just received from Summer Breaks Soaps(History 101)has a tobacco scent, but it is well mixed in with other features which attracted me to the purchase(Leather, Gunsmoke, Smoke, Sawdust). I'm hoping that if I do follow through with a soap/A.S. purchase of the History 101 I can weaken the tobacco scent by shaking the A.S. and brush-swirling(the soap). The Soap Exchange's Texas Leather has tobacco leaf(again, mixed in with nice features-especially the leather). Before this post becomes a speech, what is tobacco leaf?
  15. Tabac is tobacco flower, I think. Not the same thing as tobacco leaf. I think tobacco leaf would be a cured tobacco smell. Think of a big sheet of tobacco that gets rolled into a cigar. That's tobacco leaf as far as I know, but please someone chime in if I'm wrong or if you have better info.
  16. Excellent shave and photo. The TOBS lime shave cream is nice also.

  17. I think there are basically 3 different tobacco scents.

    Green tobacco
Cured tobacco (think cigar or pipe tobacco)
    and Tobacco flower(tabac) .

Tabac is a tobacco flower type scent and smells nothing like what I think of when I think of tobacco. When I think of a tobacco scent I think of cured tobacco. Some soaps that feature a cured tobacco scent are Stirling Gentlemen and Haverford and PAA Cavendish, and Jeeves Of Hudson Street "Blood on Steel". I don't really know what a green tobacco scent smells like.
  18. It seemed to me that in the Tobacco Lounge soap(Local Gents)that ended my NB18, someone flicked tobacco ashes into the tub before they shipped it. There might have been some leather in there, but it was very hard to pick up. The Texas Leather supposedly will drown away the tobacco scent with that of saddle leather.
  19. Best Anniversary wishes!
  20. Y'know that's interesting you mention Cavendish....I had the Rte 66 Cavendish, and never was affected the way the Tobacco Lounge hit me.
