While awaiting another trip to get the kami touched up I thought I'd take on another blade trial. This is the third blade
@Linuxguile sent me. This is the Lamix. It's a German blade, manufactured in 2011 in the Merkur plant and manufactured for the Brazilian market. It's a platinum, and the full name is Lamix Platinum Plus. I've read a few reviews and am interested to see how my opinion matches up. The Slim is on 3 for the mild trial, Arko and the JR230 for the awesome lather and away we go.
I was pleased that the first day on the blade was a very smooth day. No drag or grab from the blade and it seemed to be performing at least as well as a Derby on the mild setting. Not the greatest but not the worst. I did three full passes, WTG, XTG and ATG with Gillette Slides to finish the neck. A couple of times I glanced at the razor just to make sure I really did have the blade in there. Smooth is the word for this shave. The result turned out better than I thought it might with a high level DFS. I don't think I could have gotten a BBS on this setting with the Lamix but it certainly provided a shave good enough for any activities I might have. Alum proved silent which was a tad surprising given the severity of the Slides I used. I was pretty aggressive with those.
The final touch was the Veg for a nice refreshing finish and to impress the Mrs. who definitely has good taste. We knew that already, though, given who she married.

Day one of the trial for this blade was definitely a success and I'm looking forward to seeing how it does as we ramp up the aggression.
Coldest temps of the year on there way for Tuesday and Wednesday here at HQ. Temps start dropping fast tomorrow. I have an appointment for a windshield in the new vehicle over in Illinois so I'm hoping the rain holds off until I'm back. Rain and falling temps in STL can equal a lot of ice!

Have a great Monday!
