  1. Love the B&W, Clint... no need to comment on the CH2, though:innocent
Enjoy the hospital again today, Charlie.
4:45 is pretty darn early, but I find I get the most relaxed, leisurely shaves if I get to it while everyone else is still fast asleep.
Stunning brush, no doubt about it. The sapphire and the ruby are my faves of yours I think, Mark.
Love Proraso Green as well, Jim, but I hear you on the splashes!
Another very informative Tech post, John. I'm learning something every time.
Wow, never tried a soap that looks like that, Andrew. Very interesting.
    True that.
Great minds today on the ball end Tech, Robert!
That homemade knot seems to be holding up well, Patrick.
    Welcome back, John!

  5. And it’s well deserved. This razor hones easily too.

Living it up this AM. Damascus blade, GD soap, Shavemac in a Doug Korn, and CL foo foo to boot. Despite successfully sharpening up the Damascus blade to a much keener edge it’s still not cutting quite as close as my other razors. Time will tell if it’s me getting used to the new gear or what. Still easily a dfs.
  7. Good report, Andrew. Black soap...not for me. What color was the lather?

  9. Ummm. Just realized I forgot to strop it after honing. Oops! I may have solved the big mystery.

Had some fun with today's shave. I am getting more confident, especially with the best grip on the razor.
Angle is becoming more intuitive, as too shallow of an angle doesn't cut the hairs.
Funny how that is different from DE shaving.
Stropping is also becoming more natural. I have tried both a hook below my counter

and one that is about level with my eyes and I seem to prefer the higher hook.
It's easier on my back pulling the strop downwards than upwards.

I haven't seen too many stropping like this. Anyone out there feel the same?
Mike's was a joy to lather and the Rubberset is one of my favorite brushes.
First pass was a WTG and I am getting the hang of skin-stretching, which virtually eliminates
the jaw line! Still no experience with the chin or upper lip. Not sure when that'll happen.
I am diggin' the ZZTOP look.
Did an Upward pass in the neck, which = in reality a XTG, seeing as my neck hair grows in a
    ridiculously sideways direction.
DFS with no blood again. :happy093:

Another spectacular finish with the Small Batch Shave Tonic.

    BTW...:innocent my Dovo arrived today...:lyrtuy5:
  11. As long as you keep the blade flat and don't press the angle of the strop should not matter.
  12. Tuesday shave:

The Fine soap performed nicely again today. Today's Jwest is one my favorites, it is easy to maintain, takes a very sharp edge and holds it. A very nice shave today.

  17. Great picture, Joseph! I like my strop to hang fairly high as well, maybe not at eye level, but higher than my counter.
