Nope. My Mom would not Allow all that . She put up with a mustache but that was about it until I was out of the house and in college for a few years.
EGGGGGGGGZACALLLYYY Sir. And if you use Williams to molest another soap ...... that is molesting the Williams... Some tried that one before too.
If you mean straight razors, I did buy a new Boker from Classic Edge Shaving and he (Phil) made it shave ready and the whole bit. I tried it several times but just didn't enjoy it at all. I realize there is a lengthly learning curve, but the whole process seemed very cumbersome and awkward and I don't want to go through the longish period of sub-par shaves before I become adept at it . I can get perfect results with my DE's and that's retro enough for me.
Day 27. Another one bites the dust! Soap, that is. Sort of. I finished the tin of Savannah Sunrise today. I have another, but I'm thinking I probably won't keep it. I do like it, but this year I really am looking to thin the herd. Starting an unopened tin won't help. After 31 days straight, I guess the Thäter two band is pretty thoroughly broken in. I'm still where I was a week or so into it. I have warmed up to it a lot. Like it, even. It will see more use. But it will not displace any of my boars. A broken in boar still reigns in my little world. On to the shave. Three passes with the Dovo. Got out the Calypso R1 to finish. (I don't know about the rest if you, but I'm sold on aluminum.) It was an excellent shave. I am consistently getting to where I could skip the DE if I really had to. I still have a way to go before I'd want to.
Thanks to you Chatty Cathy's, we'll be flirting with 7000 posts before the thread takes the midnight train to Georgia.
I know I haven't been on much this month, but for those of you who finished a tub of soap and want to be part of my soap killer tracking for the year, please send me a private message. Those are much easier for me to find.
I do understand. However, I do want to encourage you to try again when you are up to it. I am a newbie to straight shaving with 45 shavette shaves and 29 traditional straight razor shaves for grand total of 74 shaves. I went into it respecting the razor but without fear. I also wanted to enjoy the experience. Maybe that's why I took to it so well. Now, I am not saying you didn't have the right mindset starting out, but what I am saying is if you do start again, go in with gusto and give yourself at least a month of steady shaving with your Boker. You may be surprised on how quickly you improve with your shaves. At least, put the idea on the shelf.
thank you jason, didn t realise the flat bottom was that rare here as lots of us have them..but then canada only got english tto razors..then brit techs after 53 ish..if anyone would like one ?...
