Thanks Danny! Logan will be turning two here in a couple of weeks. Time sure does fly.

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

I ALWAYS have an opinion. Even if I have to make one up. Actually, I have tried the VDH Ice Tempered blades. They're a German made blade that I would probably compare to a Merkur. Not the sharpest or smoothest, necessarily, but.....for someone starting out who can get them they'll do. As we have often pointed out - it's not the blade that makes the shave it's the technique used by the guy driving the blade. Some people might find them a bit of a hindrance to learning, others might not care. Just doing a rule with any blade that works will improve technique to the point the shave will improve no matter that blade.

Just as a note - my preference for a "learning blade" would be the Astra SP. Easily available online, cheap and they are smooth and sharp enough to do the job. Still my preferred head-shave blade. However, I've known newbies to get their rule in using generic Personnas from Walgreens and Derby. So whatever doesn't drive you away from learning works!

    February 1 SOTD:

    Razor: Gillette Fatboy
    Blade: Rapira Swedish Super Steel
    Brush: PAA Starcraft
    Lather: Stirling Eskimo Tuxedo
    Aftershave: Stirling Glacial SDM
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

The best part of this shave is that it is not a travel set up, as I got to sleep in my own bed last night since the contract got worked out. The shave itself was also excellent as I did two passes with a cold soap for a DFS. The Fatboy is going to provide for a great month of shaves. I hope everyone is having a great day!

Thank you, Clint. As I have mentioned before, the handle is an unabashed homage to some Romera handles.

I have already sold two Paladins. They did go quickly, but have to get rid of my DE's first.
