So my wife decides to take a shower while I am wielding a very sharp blade.
I say to her: "just sold another razor"
    She says: "why?"
I said that I am transitioning to straights.

She says: "Don't buy any more straights"
    :scared003:
"Since you're not using a brush, why don't you sell some?"
(I had spread some lather on my face with my fingers, before stropping my razor. Keep in mind, there is a
fully-loaded shave brush sitting right in from of me)

Then she sees the strop I had just hung. "That looks good there" :)
"How many strops do you need?" (There is one leather strop, one linen strop and a Balsa strop that Paul sent me)

"I don't need anymore strops dear..."
Start my shave. The Wade & Butcher has really taken an edge and I am wielding it like a pro. :happy088:

    From the shower she says:
"You must have over $6000.00 of shave stuff"...
"why don't you sell some of the aftershaves that I don't like?"
    Blade nicks left cheek...:angry019:
I am off to meditate. :yoda
    Have a better day...
  2. Great pic and report, Joseph!
I've had that same conversation with my wife. Between those conversations she'll feign interest, or not. We went to a transportation museum a while back, she lost interest quick but at least she tagged along.[IMG]

  4. That’s one of the best reports I’ve seen! Just read it to my wife, who also laughed. Hope your day improves my friend!

    February 2 SOTD:

    Razor: Gillette Fatboy
    Blade: Rapira Swedish Super Steel
    Brush: PAA Starcraft
    Lather: Stirling Gentleman
    Aftershave: Stirling Gentleman
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

It was an early morning shave this morning as I had to meet some guys to head to Houston at 4:20. The Fatboy was smooth as ever and the scent of Stirling Gentleman helped to get me moving. I got two passes for a DFS and topped it off with a splash of some AS. I hope everyone has a great day!
  6. Some great shaves and terrific pictures, gentlemen! Joseph, I don't want to laugh at someone else's expense, but that was a humorous story.
  7. Thanks, Jim!

I am playing bachelor for several weeks while my wife is in Australia on business. So I indulged a little too much last night and slept in this morning. The CH2 finally ate through the last of C&S soap. Three passes and touch ups ended in a near perfect shave. A splash of Fine Lavender and I am ready for the day. Wade is coming up for a visit. I am thinking tacos for lunch and cook some ribs on the Big Green Egg this afternoon. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.
  11. Nice photo and shave, Jim! I need to give Gentleman another try.

  13. Day 29.

Stirling Scots Pine Sheep is as good as it gets. Lathered with a snazzy newish brush from Wild West Brushworks, with 24mm SynBad knot. Three passes with the Dovo Best, touched up with the Clog Pruf. The Frostbite aftershave is getting very low. I'll be finishing it off soon. If I wasn't doing NB19 I'd be replacing it, too. Good stuff.

  15. Creosote is used as an antiseptic or a preservative. The place where my Dad worked used to inject it into hydro and telephone poles. I remember him coming home smelling of it.
  16. Thank you, Perry! I really like the tobacco flower scent of Gentleman, and SWMBO does too.

  20. That's creosote the chemical. Creosote bush is something altogether different.
