While arching some shaving YouTube videos I stumbled on Some videos on repeating razors. Caught my interest and I managed to win an auction today for a Schick B1 razor. I’ve been using a Gillette Fatboy for awhile now. Any tips? What brand and best place to buy blades - eBay, Amazon, other? The B1 is a great shaver and beautiful piece of machinery. In my experience it is one of the most difficult of any Schick offerings to use because it requires a peculiar (almost 45 degree) angle which takes getting used to. It's a breeze once you are used to it. I load one blade at a time in the internal magazine and it works smoothly. Hand loading with a pliers is also possible but it's easy to damage the blade or your fingers or both. I use Schick Proline blades from Japan.
Thanks for the tips. Looking forward to my first shave...I will report back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Welcome to the repeating razor world. I personally hand load blades after jamming a blade in a B1. The Chinese Schick blades are pretty good and readily available. Search out the Schick Repeating Razor Owners Club (SRROC) thread for some great info.
Besutiful razor!! I handload a blade. Never have cut myself. I get personna blades from @Linuxguile. They work great in my B1. I have a few shave videos with it but I do not think I have shown loading a blade...I need to do that.
Thanks Fuzzy @wchnu ! I do have the Personna's and the Schick Proline B-20's available in my shop. I did a thread on how to hand load a blade a while back: How To Hand Load (and remove) a Blade Into a Schick Repeating Razor
