  1. Yeesh, sorry about the shave Neal. You did kind of do it to yourself by bringing out the Alum, though! You’ll get to the bottom of it if there is a problem, no doubt.
Very neat razor, Gary, and a nice selection of German gear to go with it as well.
I don’t recall seeing that brush before, Keith. Is is new? Is that Birdseye Maple?
Love the L’Orange Noir, is it a dead ringer for the Terre d’Hermes?
I had forgotten how much I used to love Calvin and Hobbes, Charlie. Keep ‘em coming!
The brush looks like it was made for the Stirling jars, Jim! Very cool. I love the scent of SDM as well. You are smelling like Cary Grant this morning for sure.
Love the G5, Perry! If I pulled out a Glacial soap this morning, I’m not sure I would survive. Enjoy the warm weather!
Sorry about the crappy night, Clint. The SV Colonia is a great way to start a day, no question. I should be very thankful that it didn’t work out for Joseph!
    Safe travels, Brian!
The Weber looks great on that Shovelhead, Danny.
  2. I might have(well, the heck with it, I DID)get a little too much water in the puck(Central Texas Soaps-Grandpa's Barbershop)prior to my shave, which of course caused too much of a mix of water and the soap onto my face and neck for the first pass, but things settled down for the 2nd-that is, more soap than water). Looks pretty sudsy in there, as it is ready to go again tomorrow). Wonder what the drydown effect will be tomorrow morning. In the meantime, it was a nice shave.
  3. Thank you, Jason! I'm smelling good and feeling good!

  4. Nice shave and photo, Jason!
  5. Thanks, Jason! Even though the outside temperature was 64F this morning the glacial was still COLD! The cold rinse after pass two was quite the experience, but I enjoy it. Will wait two or three months before using that one again!
  6. Super heroes don't take days off.
  7. Icy fog on the prairie this morning. 19f and dropping. That's -7 in "Canadian."

So, I did what any reasonabke person would do. I used Osage and my scalp and went outside. Refreshing, to say the least.
  8. Patrick....it is great to know that there are people out there like you willing to help when needed.
  9. Clint....nice shave and I hope you get the feeling better.
  10. Thanks Jason. The original handle is just to small for me. The Weber has some great grip.
  11. Day 33.

Williams Wednesday! It's been a while. Three passes with the straight, and cleaned up with the single ring. I'm not sure that I could pick one favorite double edge. That would be a moving target. But some days for sure it would be the single ring. Just a little irritation around the chin today. Otherwise a great shave.

  12. Beautiful setup Neal, sorry for the rough shave.
    Nice report, Fuzzy!
    Heroic ? I think so!
    Great shave, Gary!
You have an endless supply of beautiful straights, Keith!
Fantastic shave Charlie! Getting closer to knocking out the Love ?
    Beautiful shot Jim!
Awesome shave Perry! The little Satin Tip performs like a much larger brush, I love it!
    Great shave Joe!
Awesome photo, Clint! I hope that pain fades out today!
You are the ultimate road warrior, Brian!
Very nice, Danny! A featherweight is going to the other extreme on the SE scale both in weight and aggression, curious to read about your impressions.
Fantastic warm photo Jason! Sorta makes up for the cold outside.
  13. Nice shave Robert! Hard to beat a Single Ring!
  14. Thank you, Andrew! The Satin Tip works really well.
  15. If all I ever had to shave with was a push button, and green Mountain Soap, I would be happy, and get great shaves!

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Blackland Sabre
    Gem SS PTFE (3)
WWB Jungle Ebonite (26mm, Frigate Class)
Vikings Blades "Langham Spa" activated charcoal shave cream
    Stirling Glacial Unscented PSB
    Stirling Mountain Man AS

Yesterdays shave was so close that I really didnt need to shave this morning, but whats the fun in that? I could have done two passes, but whats the fun in that? This moring I used the Viking blades shave cream again. This time instead of scooping some out with my finger I presses the tips of the brush into the cream and gave them a little twist. When I pulled them back out I had a nice little coating of cream on the brush. I then proceeded to lather in my Dry Dock bowl and is short order had a bowl full shiny lather (still light grey in color). The lather performed quite well and was plenty slick for the Sabre/ Gem PTFE to do its works comfortably. Since this cream is near unscented it allows me to pick whatever AS I want and today I heard the call of Mountain Man. Have a great day my friends!
