  2. Well Paul I was shaving two times a day with plastic junk then. So before I went out in the evening, I shaved right after work. It grew from Friday night to about the same time the next Friday.

  3. I always believe that you don't necessarily have to straight razor shave by the prevailing method. If you need to use your dominant hand throughout the entire shave, then do so. In your case, just use your left hand to shave the right cheek and do the rest of the shave with the standard method.
  4. Great shave Terry. I am glad you got the razor to work for you.

I managed to sleep in a little longer this morning. It was nice to get the much needed rest. The SOC Mistura brush once broken in has great backbone and relatively soft tips. The knot really delivers well above its price point. The SOC easily whipped up the MW Vetiver & Oakmoss. The trick with MW soaps is to load it like it owes you money and is six months past due. Once loaded I began to add water slowly as I face lathered. I ended up with enough wonderful rich slick lather for a 5 pass shave. Three passes and touch ups ended in a near perfect shave. A splash of Fine Fresh Vetiver followed by spritz of Guerlain Vetiver EdT left me smooth shaven and smelling great. I am off to visit Mom and take her to lunch. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

  12. 20190209_082732.jpg Good morning everyone! Once again, I am keeping with my theme of "firsts". Today, I shaved for the very first time with my turn of the 20th Century WF Engel Special. I prepared this razor by using Crox and then I barber honed it. I also used a soap that I never tried before and it was Stirling Sandalwood sample size. It smelled great and lathered very well. Thanks Andrew for pifing it to me. The razor isn't as sharp as my other straights because I had to do WTG, ATG and XTG to get a better than DFS but not entirely BBS. Everything but my neck was smooth. I could feel the slight "invisible" stubble. This razor did its job, but it wasn't as comfortable as my other razors because I had to put a little pressure on the blade so I am not surprised, therefore, I am not disappointed. I got this razor at an Ebay auction for just under $30 plus shipping. To me, getting a 100 yr vintage shave ready razor at that price was a bargain. Eventually, when I have to spring for a Norton combo and a finisher, then I have faith that this razor will be shaving me comfortably. Finished with Old Spice. I am giving myself a Grade of 92 = A- because I nicked myself under my jawline. Make it a great Saturday, fellas!
