Sounds great, Joseph. 35 years is a major milestone! Our anniversary is coming up on May 16 (32 years).
I have to confess that I've never seen the TV version with Richard Boone. I'm more familiar with the radio version where Paladin was played by John Dehner.
I got mine on the SRD closeout because it was a 'can't walk away' price. Figuring that Lynn Abrams or one of his associates made sure the edge was good, I spritzed alcohol on it to clean off the oil. Went to the strop and don't think I made 3 cycles before the crumble. In the end, it cost me more than a new non-celluloid piece would have. Not all plastic scales are so sensitive to alcohol. It is also recommended that one make sure that you grip the tang when stropping or honing (read - no torquing on the scales).
Thanks Joseph. I laughed at myself after posting this photo. The oak shelves in their current condition are a mess and have surely caused my Bride to have heart palpitations at some point. Everything on them will soon be packed up for moving. They will look much nicer the next time I share a photo.
Wonderful shave today, Perry, with your Great Uncle's Trac II razor and brush. Thanks for bringing it out for us all to appreciate. It definitely looks like a nice gift set, and I'm glad you liked the shave. The Trac II provides me with shaves that easily rival any of my DEs. Indeed, it makes a very nice travel razor. Have a restful Sunday!
We have to work on your wife's palpitations. I am thinking something expensive and girly. Something to take her mind off of your shaving gear.
Thank you, Keith. Kathy is seeing some significant improvements already. We look forward to seeing you at the meet up as well. Thanks Brian. I'll use the the photos of my 30 DC brothers' shave cabinets for inspiration.
