SOTD February 11th Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap Schick Injector Type F Personna Maseto Shaving Classic (30mm, Cruiser Class) Stirling Haverford soap and AS Stirling Glacial Unscented PSB This week is going to be an Injector theme week for me as I work through EDRIO. No better place to start then with the Type F. All metal construction and industrial good looks! The Type F not only looks good but to me is a very aggressive razor, right up there with the E2 and Pal IM. I also realized that there was still one more scent from my Stirling Black Friday order that I haven't tried yet, Haverford. Sweet tobacco and vanilla and STRONG! Opening the soap tub quickly made the bathroom smell like my grandpa was smoking a cigar near by. A nice heavy load with the poor mans Chubby 3 had me a bowl full of lather that looked like melted chocolate ice cream. I finished with Stirling Glacial Unscented PSB followed by a very light application of the Haverford AS, which I can still smell quite strongly 5 hours later. Have a great day my friends!
Wonderful photo, Andrew! I didn't realize you had a Schick F. Jealous!! Yes, you're right about Haverford - it's STRONG! I wore it yesterday and it stayed with me all day. Bathroom smelled like it most of the day too, which isn't a bad thing. Very nice!
i liked using my e 3s when i had them , just liked the gillettes more. but if i were to have another schick it would be an f type..the all metal appeals to me ..
Thank you Andrew! Not too shabby yourself. Good to hear they are on the more aggressive side as that's my preference. Got a pocket change jar with a Type F as my goal. There are still a few of them kicking around though they are limited editions. All the AD's have calmed for the moment. I don't visit my close by junk shops like I used to. Give them a chance to build up stock and hope I don't have too much local competition.
Excellent post John. I have wondered the same thing about boar bristles. I have had the same thing happen to a boar brush while the next one from the same manufacturer didn’t have the issue at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Thanks Clint ! Out of all of the SEs I have tried this month I think the 1912 is favorite. It is s great shaver but I like the fact that I can put the Weber bulldog on it. I just like that handle.
Day 38. First time trying Henri et Victoria with the straight. Another keeper, I'd say. As with all of my soaps, the straight razor is a whole new go/no go test. I like this scent, but I think I'm a little sensitive to something in the fragrance. Only a little bit though. So I'll be keeping it, just won't repurchase this particular scent. Otherwise, all the stars lined up nicely and it was a great shave.
I visit it often to look. That where I bought a Lot that included my Stahly. It was in the group photo, but tucked in the back behind other stuff.
