  4. I'm looking too. I keep seeing references to a plastic suribachi bowl, but no one has a photo or a listing for sale. I'm very happy with my ceramic bowls, and being born on Friday the Thirteenth and Left Handed seems to protect me from breakage. So far...

Try things. Keep the ones that work and discard those that make it worse. It's your shave and the techniques may not work for you. Stretching in the wrong direction just might make it worse? I do very little off hand stretch. Most of my skin taunting is making shaving faces.

Ahh, the Zen Shave. Everything just works without thinking about it. Congrats!

I had forgotten about my (huge!) sample of Stirling Gentleman SS. It's been in a covered Old Spice mug buried in the cabinet. I kept hearing about the Missuses having issues with the overpowering scent. "Tobacco, Vanilla, Amber, and Musk" from the website. I like it and will ask my Ladies what they think.
  5. Thanks Jim!

  7. Hi all, close morning shave.
My modified PAA Starling V2 is turning out to be more than I ever expected.

Using a new Gem Pesonna blade as always, this razor is a different shaver.
I lathered up well, but this time I was careful to ride the cap and be light handed. This gave me a very close 2 pass shave on both head n face.
I was having problems getting a good clean pass without misses, no more. I am now having to focus this razor.
    Nice!
Never thought that such a small change would make such a big difference.
So it will take some time to get it right, but that's ok. A week, 2 weeks, might take a month, but that's a good thing to me.
I see there are over 200 new posts since I last had time to sit and read things. So knowing every one, I am realy wanting to read about the days endeavours.
    Thanks

  16. When I started out streatching the skin, I seemed to put to much pressure on the razor, had to unlearn that, took time. IMO, the Feather blade will require even less pressure, so be light, be gental. I didn't try Feathers until I had other blades down pat.

  17. Thanks for your review on the Haverford scent. I will not get it because I can't stand cigars. However, I did like the Sandalwood sample that you sent me. The Sandpiper was ok, but it didn't have a strong scent. Overall, I am impressed by Stirling's rich, slick and thick lather. Again, many thanks for turning me on to it.

Long, yet productive day. Feeling strong and good about the week. Stayed the course with the shave. Life is good on the snow covered prairie. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

Have a nice evening and great Tuesday!

  19. New to wet shaving?

It generally isn't a lack of consumer products that causes shaving irritation and redness.
