I picked up a few Old Spice items recently to add to the collection. An American Glass Early 02 mug (three ribs) for $5 and then a mid 50's aftershave for $9 and a mid 50's talc for $9. I didn't really need the mug but five bucks is too cheap to ignore. The aftershave and the talc are both a little more than half full. I didn't need either one but the condition of the bottles and the logos made the decision for me. Oftentimes the paint on this vintage has faded but these are in great shape.
It is one I have not tried but it seems to the in the same camp as Williams Mug Soap. Either you love it or hate it and enjoy the back and forth.
i haven t tried the veg either , but lilac isn t for me so much..the williams/veg/arko banter is fun though...
Oh man I remember the first time I smelled it.. I choked a little.. the initial scent was musky urine with a bit of rotted spinach.. but I was determined. I wore it only at night to start off with.. I’d wake up thinking I had an accident... but only to realize the aftershave was in my nostrils. There were many a cold lonely night as my wife banished me to the garage. But still I was determined to prove myself to it. after months of being in exile and just as I was about to give up, it happened. The scent no longer evoked a urge to vomit, the dry heaving stopped, the stray cats seemed to have all but left me alone.. I was now worthy.. THE VEG had granted me entrance to its kingdom.. All hail THE VEG it is mighty , it conquers all, ALL HAIL THE VEG.
After reading your post I do not know if I want try it or run. Part of me wants to man up but of of being a man is knowing your limits. Great and funny post. Best one I have read in a while.
Second thought............ it might be like the garbage truck driver. The scent no longer bothers him.
Lol man up! Worst case scenario you hate it and sprinkle it in the yard to kill the weeds and scare off the rodents. Caution it may attract unwanted guests.
