Oh sorry guys, I got the two grand kids tonight, take one to school while the yearling stays with me. Then we all have a Valentines Day party at school in the morning. Then off to the hospital to see the 3rd grandkid, should be out to see the world by then. Don't know what the afternoon will bring. Tonight had to fix a tire on the car, left handed mind you. Busy, busy, busy....
Hope the little one sleeps tonight.
But if not, been there, done that.....
Grandma is with sissy, of course.
Everything starts around or before 4:30 am.
I am feeling my age though.
    So, off to the races...
    Should be a great day!

One man was charged with murdering his room mate. He had given his room mate money to purchase crack cocaine. Crack heads being crack heads, he stabbed the guy to death and but him in a garbage can. The defendant was prior service military and his attorney made a big point of keeping every person who had served on the jury. Ironically, he might have gotten off were it not for the 4 of us who were prior service.

We get called at random. I have been called several times in one year and at other times gone years without being called for jury duty.

It is an awesome responsibility being a jurist because you affect lives for good or bad, especially capital offense cases. One more thing, I never served in the military, but I thank you and every veteran for their service. God bless America!

I've only made it past the voir dire once to sit on an actual trial. Either the attorneys find out I'm an engineer, or I make a statement or answer a question that causes me to get bumped from the jury pool.

Usually they ask if you have family in law enforcement and I do. Then the defense attorney sends me home so fast. Not this time. I’m still shocked they let me stay on the jury.

The first time I was empaneled on a robbery case. Did not get past the voir dire questioning. Second time was a car accident insurance case. I got bumped because I told them that a drunk driver rear-ended me 6 months prior.

    February Favorites!!

    February 13

    Razor - Fatip Piccolo
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
    Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat
    Brush - The Canuck
    Post - Alum, The Veg

Third and final shave for this round on the Fatip and Voskhod. I've used all my Stirling soaps so on to another favorite, Mitchell's Wool Fat. This has been my unofficial favorite soap for at least three years, challenged only by Stirling, and I'm still debating that order. As usual the hydrated puck coupled with a barely damp brush resulted in a lather explosion that required some extra sink clean up. Gotta love this soap. The texture is so light yet so protective and slick. It's Campbell's soup mmmmm.....mmmmm.....good! The Canuck made it even more effortless and there was enough lather left over in the brush after three full passes to share with everyone here. Alum was quiet, and I finished with a splash of the Veg to make it a perfect shave. BBS finish was just one highlight. Please note in the picture, the glow of goodness from the Veg illuminated the entire shave! It's heavenly, I tell you!
