My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Proraso Sandalwood Shave Cream face lathered well with the Jayaruh #353 Badger/Boar brush. I did two passes with the Un Named Shavette razor with a Stainless 77 blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Dove Men+Care Post Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I got this razor from Flori, a fellow shaver in Albania. Read about it here:

Joseph Rodgers 13/16 that I honed yesterday, soap was MdC fougere lathered with a TOBS silvertip. A splash of Myrsol Agua Balsamica complimented the fougere nicely. The razor shaves like a dream, a ‘whisker squeegee’.

    Cheers, Steve

It'd be hard to get a nicer shave. I think my black arkie is finally there. Have a good one.

I've been anxious to post this one. This is today's shave with both the brush today on the left and the one from yesterday on the right. They are special gifts from a member on another site. The soap is a great PIF from shave/brush. My wife loves the sent, and the performance is excellent, so it will be a regular for me. The razor is from Glen at Gemstar. It is my second razor and the first that is professionally honed. I am absolutely hooked on Straights. I had an excellent shave without nicks. [IMG]

Box, paper, minimal wear... don’t think it had seen much mileage. Only used it a few times and very enjoyable.

Is that a 45? I haven't seen one in years. The last record player I owned was more than ten years ago.

Oh, that's embarrassing. I guess I need to look closer at the picture.... ha ha ha. I have heard great things about Barrister and Mann, but have yet to try it. I need to get through some soaps first.

5/8 + Japanese Frameback Towa Gen Takahashi Toroku

Had a super close shave with this piece of Japanese Shaving history .Wonderful steel that took a very smooth and keen edge .
Was inspired by Test Depth's Japanese Frameback post earlier in the week .

Thank you. I Really find the shape appealing.
The heel is somewhat interesting. I can’t see anything on this razor that would lead me to think it isn’t factory, but I have seen this 55 model both like this and with a full heel.

The Japanese frameback is such a nice shaver... Nice razor Mike!
I also love that you can normally find them for a deal. Mine was a whopping $8 - though I don’t know who made mine :).
