I completely agree. I have the complete set 21,23 and 25mm. I bought them years ago so they are V1 Fibre. I recently rediscovered them and can't understand why the were unused for so long!
17 February 2019 Just touching up around the edges of my beard. BTW Brit...here's that box I mentioned yesterday. It was a promo for a furniture store in Tarrytown, NY where my parents lived years before I came along. It was made by the Lane Furniture company in Virginia. I have the full sized cedar chest that was my mom's.
I have a thing for those unique wood boxes. Looks like cherry? Are you storing shaving gear in it? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

Not sure about the type of wood although it still retains a faint cedar scent. It might be cedar for that matter. No shaving gear storage. It's a catch all that resides in my top dresser drawer.

Marvel cap-Matador plate. Another great one. Not quite as smooth as the Swing but even more efficient -- Matador has gap AND exposure and fulcrum shoulder rather than rigid clamping . A mini Barbasol Floating Head. Eminently enjoyable. PolSilver (2)

BBS results today. I tested a BiC Chrome-Platinum blade again (switching back from the Astra SP) and the BiC CP is PERFECT this time around. For me, the PAA Ascension SS razor has proved very aggressive and efficient even when screwed all the way down (its most 'mild' setting). I had trouble getting a great shave with this razor for the first 10-13 times I shaved with it due to irritation & burn, but now it seems I am getting the right feel for it and applying the correct amount of pressure at the correct angles in order to get a perfect shave. Today, no weepers, no cuts, though I did feel some sting/feedback on the aftershave splash (proving this is an aggressive shave for me). I have finally acquired the skill to shave with this razor and ride the edge of irritation without going too far. My opinion based on extensive use now. I am beginning to really like the PAA Ascension Stainless Steel razor. I don't think I'll ever use the more aggressive blade angle options, by unscrewing it, because this is barely on the edge of razor burn territory and only by adjusting my technique did I get this under control. A medium/mild type blade like the BiC CP is right what I needed. I suspect that I won't get very many shaves out of the blade (maybe 5 shaves tops) before I have to change it. The razor really uses the blade edge with no mercy. I am surprised so many reviewers are saying the PAA Ascension SS is 'mild'? For me it's a beast that had to be tamed with both blade selection and technique adjustment. Now that I seem to have the correct technique I think this will be one of my best shavers. And Atomic Age Bay Rum smells fantastic. It's my favorite Bay Rum and one of my favorite fragrances among my 50-odd fragrance collection. The CK6 vegetal formula is my favorite soap because I practically only use vegetal soaps and it's just the best. I can dial in the lather to do whatever I want from a pasty/thick-protective lather to a thin-yogurt-slick lather. The soap has an unstoppable residual slickness if just a drop or two of water is added to my off-hand and rubbed into the skin. Doing that instantly re-activates the soap's slickness to allow extra strokes. The soap is a pleasure to shave with and doesn't require me to keep going back to the brush to re-slick an area on touch-ups. And add a scuttle and this is one of my most enjoyable shaves.

Yup, Sunday deliveries! Wet shaving has certainly expanded my horizons for scents, however it will be difficult nudge Brut out of the top position in the MaxHeadroom list of Most Glorious Stanks. If only it lasted better. Be well!

Since I used a Merkur 45 for Valentines Day I figured I would stick with the Merkur theme and reached for the mighty Mergress. Technically a hot rod Merkur but a Merkur nonetheless. Started off with Proraso Green pre-shave lotion and today’s soap choice was Sapone di Paolo Menta (rebranded as “eleven” now) with the matching balm. If you haven’t tried this soap it is fantastic as are all the “eleven” soaps. Great performance and lather. A wonderful smelling and mentholated shave all around! 3 passes and BBS!
