Monday SOTD Razor: Rockwell Gunmetal Model-T Blade: Super Iridium(D3) Brush: Muhle V2 Travel Brush Bowl: Collapsible Travel 5" Pre-Shave Scrub: MRGO Lime Pre-Shave Balm: Grooming Dept Patchouli & Mint Shave Cream: Irisch Moos Post: Monster Block Alum Aftershave: Irisch Moos Second day using the Rockwell Gunmetal finish Model-T adjustable razor and have to say, that after waiting almost 3 years for this thing to arrive on my doorstep and expecting a letdown, the shock is on me. Still a long way to go with trying different blades but when paired with the Super Iridium, a no touchup 2 pass shave. The finish is perfect gunmetal mirror finish, has a nice weight to it, smooth adjustment range and I like the fact I am not locked into settings like the Fatboy. I set mine at 2.7-2.8 range (max is 6) and at this setting it was like shaving with a Feather AS-D2 but the Model-T shave closer, and like the AS-D2 I could speed shave at this setting without fear of cutting myself. 2 passes, no touchup required and shave was so smooth and close that I didn't feel whiskers on my face again until 7-8 later when time for dinner and I really didn't need to shave again this morning. I was impressed with the Rockwell 6S four years ago and even more impressed with this Model-T. Patience surely paid off this time for me and at the kickstarter intro price of $79 it is a steal. Came with a nice box for storage, similar to the Feather razors, 100 Rockwell blades and a leather DE razor cover.
Schick Early Type I (55) Razor Personna Blade Ever-Ready #1 Boar Brush (restored) Proraso Green Soap Dickinson's Witch Hazel Barbasol Brisk After Shave This blade has been in this razor so long, I don't even know how many shaves it has. And since this brush has broken in very well, it's become one of my favorites. Still managed to remove three days of growth and get a nice BBS shave in three passes.
Evening Shave Prep: Hot Shower Pre: Musgo Real Glyce soap Razor: Rockwell 6S (R4) Blade: Nacet (second use) Brush: Razorock 400 Synthetic Soap: Stirling Haverford Post: Cold water, witch hazel, AS splash, and Nivea balm. First time using a Stirling soap and I see what all the rave is about, excellent performance. Didn't quite get a BBS shave, missed some spots on the neck after 3 passes. My guess is the blade, I find it a bit too mild, but I do have a few more different brands to sample so we shall see. Have a great day everyone!

Well been a bit under the weather last few days and did not shave, today I am a bit better and the wife wants to go shopping...there is a surprise...so needing a shave I abandoned my 30 day rule with my shavette coz it does take me longer with that and went with the Gillette flare tip that is my birth year/month that I ever so gratefully received in my recent pif...it performed excellently, smooth, great balance and could not fault it, one small nick on my top lip because I was rushing a bit but that was my fault, I used Proraso green pre and soap with a soft cheap body shop brush...it too surprised me, I generally prefer a really firm brush...if I could tie up a bunch of short twigs .. I would probably use that, but the soft brush just seemed so light and held the lather quite well...not as good as my omega I must say..but adequate, I will use it again. Robert.
