Scored a Friedr. Baurmann & Sohne Marke Zwerg 906 Solingen Razor today off ebay for $.99! Looks to be in fairly nice shape. The scales look to be a little warped, but that's fixable. I'll report more with photos when I get it.
Also got a B.J. Eyer & Co. Challenge Razor for $28. B.J. Eyer was a partner of Wm. Greaves & Sons and took over razor production in the Sheaf Works when Greaves stopped making razors.
"Green Lizard" Cattaraugus Cutlery Co.. Little Valley NY. Another Restoration Razor. This one looked like it had something to work with. Plus, the few razors made in Little Valley NY, are fantastic razors. For $14.00, I figured I would give it a shot. Good thing is, the scaled are straight, and the blade line up nicely. Extra Hollow Ground, with very little hone wear. Also, it might not look like it, in the pics,.and in hand, but the scales are Dark Green, and translucent.
I had looked at that one myself. Can't remember why I didn't bid on it, as it does look nice for a rejuvenation. (I don't like using the term restoration, as it implies returning it to its original state. The truth is that none of us know what they looked like fresh from the factory. We're only surmising. Semantics, I know, but that's just me.)
That's a thought, but I think I'll just stick with rejuvenation. BTW, I just found a W Greaves & Son Sheaf Works on ebay, Buy It Now for $11.95! Photos are not the sharpest, but the blade profile is correct and the seller has a feedback score of 10476 100% positive. I couldn't pass it up for the price! Will post photos when I receive it.
Just finished with the "RESTORATION", and will post in the "RESTORATION SECTION", in a few minutes. ..
