Well I said early on that I would be in it for NB of soaps and blades, and I'm still in. I don't have the vast accumulations that some have, but I wish to clear out before getting any thing new next year. Soap 3 pucks of Stirling, 1 tub of TOBS, and 2 cans of Barbasol. About 300 blades. I usually make a blade last a week, so I'm set for a good long time. Now even though I'm only doing a NB19 for soaps and blades, I plan on reducing my brushes, AS and razors (a little on the razors). Stay strong my friends!
Holy Molly, Brother. I thought I was bad. However, there is this part of me that is grinning and telling my inner self, "You know you want it like that."
Well, then! One down, eleven to go. I'm still in. I killed off one soap and one tube of cream in January. Baby steps.
I'm not in. I've broken the acquisition disorder, but I think I'll buy a couple of creams this year to compare against my MWF, Tabac and D.R. Harris soaps.
Back in? After successfully navigating my 2018 no-buy, the 2019 edition stumbled slightly as January ebbed. I found a puck of Institute Karite Shea Shaving Soap at TJ Maxx for $3 and caved. I've long wanted to try this soap, and I'd never seen it in person. And there was only one. Triple milled french soap for $3? Well, yes, please. And now I'm back on the wagon. Still in, too! Using the same rotation of SE's, and refraining from adding to the collection has not only saved me some greenbacks but also enhanced technique.
Congrats on your NB18. I mighta succeeded had I not let "marketing" get the best of me and buy that Tobacco Lounge shave soap. Like shaving next to a fire! The complete antithesis of @Yehuda D's supply.
Still in....as has been the case since the middle of 2015....may need to replace blades sometime around October
Hopping in for a check up. Still in with nothing turning my head or emptying my wallet in regards to shaving. Of course, adding new windows to our house may have emptied the wallet for a few years...
blown it on most accounts.. no pun intended.. but shopping wisely..the poor weather, slow at work factor helps..
And let's look at the survey question....Yes appears to be pulling into a safe lead, by 17 over No, but Just Here To Watch could knock No into third as the year progresses. All right, don't worry-I'm not going to project a winner with 11 months to go!!
I wasn’t “in” for the NB, but did want to reduce the den. I have sold and/or PIF’d more than I’ve bought so far this year, and have put aside gear for the prize cache for the Shavey Awards in May that should result in a mass exodus from the den. Feeling good!
