  16. Beautiful picture and razor, Mark!
  17. I don’t own one, but I vote those original ‘30s Open Comb Aristocrats the most beautiful razors, Mark. That one is particularly stunning. Is that a replate, or is it original?

Well, I couldn't help myself. I pulled out the Shake Sharp 2.0 and had a go of it. The tabac stick didn't disappoint as usual. A pretty smooth and comfortable shave except for an area of slight irritation near my Adam's apple. My technique has drastically improved since using this razor long ago - I used to have crazy irritation in that area (much less than traditional cartridge razors though, I just have a very sensitive neck)... I may keep it out for the next few days. Gotta love the inexpensive Barbasol Brisk - so refreshing. Have a great evening all.

    February 21 - Moon Soap Review #4

Razor - 1947 Gillette Super Speed
    Blade - [IMG]
Soap - Moon Old School Tallow Shave Soap
Brush - Vie Long 12601 The Pony
    Post - Alum

Final shave with the Moon Old School Tallow Soap and we'll give it to a horse brush tonight. I love my 12601 but it gets lost in all of the synthetics. Then I get a synthetic horse knot in the Jararuh #231 and it gets lost even more. Definitely time to give it some love. The Moon soap has performed very well with every brush and it did the same with the horse. Loaded easily, made a great lather, no issues. One interesting note the past couple of nights, the scent has changed a bit on me. Probably me getting used to it, but the Vetiver has come out a bit more as I've used it. Less like Haverford now. Still has the tobacco/vanilla mix, but vetiver is definitely there now with a little of the wood underneath. Very nice, and fairly subtle.

Two passes and touch up tonight was all it took the '47 SS and Sharp Star to get me to BBS. I did another face lather just to check soap volume and had more than enough. Nice finish to the day. Speaking of the day - all is still well after the brass parade today. Actually met a couple of smart people in the group which doesn't always happen with the dog and pony show crew. Can you tell I'm not a fan? Anyway, we'll see what changes do or don't come out of the visit and I have at least put my exit plans on a temporary hold until we hear something. In the meantime - I'll just keep shaving.

Also fixed my network problem with my computer tonight. I have no clue why this thing doesn't want to play nice with the internet, but adding a wi-fi extender with an ethernet port and hard wiring in has given me the kind of internet access I need and want. Case closed. Have a great Friday!
