  6. It's it just me or is there a strong resemblance to a New Deluxe?

  7. A couple of items I picked up recently.
A blade bank and a Hull Pottery Old Spice A/S bottle (1938-46).
The cap and stopper have been replaced with a cork. Without digging through my stash, this might be the oldest Old Spice A/S bottle I've gotten.

  8. Some resemblance to a three hole New Deluxe, though it looks to have more gap. Certainly not a clone of either the NI or ND.[IMG]

  10. Side profile looks like a tech but with NEW characteristics
  11. Yeah In other words it doesn't match anything in particular but is a pretty conventional long combish configuration (Tech being a long comb offshoot). I expect a long comb type shave from it. Fortunately the handle gives it perfect balance unlike the Gillette.
  12. My John & Wm Ragg arrived today. One of those wonderful surprises where the razor looks better in person than it did in pictures. I can’t wait to put this one to use. The edge @gssixgun put on it is calling to me. Really. I have visions of stubble effortlessly being waved off. Yeah, it’s been too long.

  13. There's a couple of mentions here. Refering I think to Krumholtz "The Complete Gillette Collector's Handbook":

in the chapter "Gillette Clones" mentions German manufacturers Linden, Otto, Optimo, Heco, Melito, Rotbart, FATA, Theo. Offenbach, Fraenkel, Fred. Middledorf, Rohoppf, Meehan, Koening, Hennico, Enn Werke, Befa, Loew, as well as Merkur.
  14. Some of the razors finally arrived. After cleanup they look like this.

    haul1.jpg

Red Tip Rocket, British 3pc Tech, Gillette Old Type 1921 - 1929
Black Tip with metal handle W3, French? Wardonia, Wardonia

    haul2.jpg

3 unknown plastic razors, British and take a modern blade
2 Wardonias, the left one I think is French the right one has a mismatched cap that makes it unusable unless I swap the cap out from the metal handle Wardonia.

  15. Well useful to the extent we establish that the Italian enthusiasts never heard of it either. I suspect the seller of mine presumed Italian origin based on the Italian brush packaged with it. It's not clear why the person on the Italian forum made the same presumption. I guess will have to look into German sources as well based on Krumholz. Note that Krumholz also puts NEW in caps, make of that what you will.
  16. That razor and even logo doesn't look very Teutonic.

  20. Got a real nice care package from @Jrdelgado today..............
On top, an NRA 50 knife and cased Ever-Ready 1914 Little Lather catcher. Left to right - Gillette Blue Tip (B3), Gillette Flair Tip (F1), Gillette Red Tip (B4), Gillette Blue Lady Starburst (G2), Gillette Slim (H3), Ever-Ready 1924 Shovel Head (head is gold plated), Gem Featherweight and Schick G1.
I'm no expert, but the Ever-Ready 1924 seems to be an early version with the flat style teeth and blade stops. The shorter handle might be from a travel razor and will most likely be replaced with another one. And I've always wanted a Red Tip, but sellers usually ask a lot or auctions get high on price. Also have a question because I don't know where it is on here. What paint color is a match for the red tip? Also, I think someone mentioned a nail polish that will match it as this razor is in really good shape with no plate loss.
