As promised, I took this W&B back to the stones. Killed the edge and started with my 4K Norton.

I haven't mastered the one-handed lap, still needing to at least rest my left hand on the toe.
Used some of Lynn's pointers, especially when it comes to making sure the toe doesn't get over-honed.
Followed with the 8K and finished with a 12K Naniwa.
Using the loupe often, I am getting an unbelievably mirror-like edge on the side with the engraving,
while the other side does not want to get the same results.
I decided to work that side significantly more on the 12K, with some success.
Makes me wonder if the geometry of this razor is one that I do not yet understand.
Gave it a good stropping with my newly-acquired Wladimir Savin strop, which, BTW,
cleaned up beautifully. Both the leather and the linen are in excellent condition. I ended up stripping the
black paint off of the "holder"? (Don't know the correct terminology) I may wind up spray-painting it black again.
    The shave.
Once again, I used the Bonaparte sample and loaded my Rooney. Really great lather and the scent is excellent.
The razor is sharp, of that there can be no denying. I am able to get a smooth shave all over, but it takes
multiple passes. No irritation, no nicks nor cuts.
Splashed on some Veg and virtually no burn. I might add that if I were scraping the heck out of my skin,
the Veg would really make me wince. But it didn't.

I am not giving up on the W&B, it gets me to the finish line, but isn't going to bring home a medal.

Thanks Paul! However, my thought was that you needed to be quite adept to use a 9/8 razor. It certainly isn't for a rookie straight shaver. One day, I will venture into getting a full incher or more, but I have 8 straights in my den and I am not looking to purchase any more shaving toys.

Joseph, thanks for another fine report! I have not fully honed my straights because I haven't needed to do so. I probably will use the film method when the need arises. I figure with 8 shave ready straights in my den, I won't have to start thinking about honing until very late in the year.

Now you need to get a bright green brush to match the soap.

I've been looking at brushes daily so maybe a green one is in my future. I have the Green Ray synthetic but synthetic brushes aren't my go to.

Great shave Neal! Glad things went about as well as they could have!
Oh, I know all about the drama with the Model T. I have a REX Ambassador that scratches the modern adjustable itch quite well.
    Another beautiful blade, Keith!
    Fantastic photo, Jim!
    Beautiful photo Jim!
    Happy fat Friday, Perry!
Sounds like its time to open a dispute, Danny.
Woowe that's a beast of a razor, Paul!
Beautiful shot Joseph! I'm glad you are enjoying the Bonaparte! I find that when I'm honing I have much better control of the blade when I am pulling it toward me rather then pushing it away from me. If you watch the AX honing method video he does something interesting, by flipping the razor to opposite sides of the hone he has it so that he is always pulling the razor toward himself. This doesn't really work for me since I use lapping film on a granite tile after I get the bevel set, but since you are using stones it may work for you.
