When ever you hone a razor you do wear the spine away some, since the spine and the bevel are both touching the hone. It’s inevitable. With learning to hone we tend to put more pressure than what is needed causing the excessive wear. Hope that helps some Joseph.
On my drive home, I pass by an off road shop. As I was driving home this afternoon, I saw a bus just like this sitting outside that shop. I thought it was a bit of a coincidence having just seen this picture earlier this morning.
I have a couple at 8/8 and one at 9/8. The 9/8 is a bit tricky but I find the bigger blades easier to maneuver and control, especially with a smile. I find small and light razors very hard to have fine control with, one small shift is a huge change in angle for a small razor. I used my favorite big smiler coming up in the next post.......
It is Saturday and our semi-annual staff meeting plus it is Favorite February. Today are two of my favorites, a handle made by Jason filled with a soft Shavemac silver tip and this big smiling Mike Martinez. The razor is fresh off my Shapton glass 16k and the edge was just perfection. Irritation A+ Closeness A+ Smoothness A+ Sharpness A+ Razor: M. Day 49. Back to the Ralf Aust, and the ball end tech to touch up. Another outstanding shave. My lower neck is pretty much the last hold out. But I expected that. I'll get it figured out sooner or later.

A very nice pic of a very cool razor. I trust the big staff meeting will go well. With your collection of beautiful brushes, Keith, I am humbled and honoured that you included my handle amongst your favourites.
Just dropping in to say “Hello” to everyone. I’m more than 1,600 posts behind. Catching up is not gonna happen. Still chugging along with the Parker - on day 48. Very enjoyable shaves with it. It just dawned on me a week or so ago just how “normal” using it feels now. There’s no more staring at the razor, and moving it from hand to hand to figure out the grips. It’s all becoming a regular routine. Pick it up and go. Off hand use still lags behind my right hand, yet it’s greatly improved from when I began. Hope everyone is doing well. Have a great weekend, gents! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bruce, it's great to see you posting and continuing with the Parker SRX. You've done wonderfully with it! I completed the 45th shave with mine today. I hope all is well, my friend.
